260 miles today and in total clocked up about 2200. Gear shift definitely becoming smoother. Mrs Pugwash very happy with ride quality (result!). Car averaged 31 mph on way up to Scotland and now about 27 with some spirited driving today. Surprising. It makes a great grand tourer car with some...

In Glasgow today. Roundels fitted ready for tour. There is at least one other Emira on this trip so some good conversations should be had.

    UK Auto Deliveries

I applied to DVLA online to put my personal plate on retention. Paid £80. DVLA issued an age related registration for my old car which I had made up and fitted. Remember to tell insurance co that you have changed the reg number. Sold the car. When Emira was ready, passed retention certificate...

    UK Auto Deliveries

I have moved plates from car to car and car to bike etc. It’s £80 iirc with DVLA to put the plate on retention and then you get a retention certificate you can give to the dealer if it’s new or do it yourself. I guess if you have been buying a succession of new Mercs that the dealer is...

Emira insurance - best and worst UK insurers/quotes

A word of caution on multi policies. I put two motorcycles both with long no claims discounts into a multi bike policy as it was a good deal. Somewhat inevitably the following year it was not as competitive as two single policies but when I tried to take one off the multi policy I was told...

    Scorpion Tracker

Once it is up and running you can set an alert that is simply ignition on. Regardless of tags etc. It‘s a good way of checking that the tracker is alive and sending out alerts.

📓 Journals JasonRs 2023 Seneca Lotus Emira 6 Speed

There is a keeper on the belt. It’s like a little plastic button that stops the blade sliding down the belt. This may be something to do with Lotus evolution. If you look at an Evora it also has the twist but I think that’s to do with Evora having a slider bar at the bottom to allow access to...

My brakes were sharp from the get go. If I had stomped on them the car would have stood on its nose. You get used to the gesture controls on the steering wheel. You can click instead of swipe but sometimes they do different things (like the mute function). I haven’t found a way to switch them off.

Spotted: Emiras seen in the wild

What is Heart and Magpie? OK just googled it. Didn’t know they had car meets. In fact I thought that pub was called something else. I do know about the car meets at Beaconsfield services. Reading their web site - Magpies web site says modern exotics not allowed!

If you have the dolphin fairing you can’t fit high bars. I did keep the higher clip ons rather than the lower ones. But in 6 years I only did 1800 miles! Lovely to look at though.

Thanks. I had a ThruxtonR with the full track racer kit, dolphin fairing etc before which wasn’t getting used as I seem to have outgrown the cafe racer crouch so my friendly Triumph dealer persuaded me to PX it for the Rocket. It’s much more comfortable to ride (although not as nimble of course).

I can confirm that an indoor car cover for an Evora also fits on the Emira, although it’s a bit more of a stretch across the rear.

Emira Issues - from final production cars

Mine works. If I turn it to Low cold air comes out. I did think the AC is a bit slow to respond but I have discovered there is a fan intensity setting for auto mode. Mine is set for medium. I keep meaning to turn it to High and see what difference it makes. I am guessing it will push...
