    📓 Journals Adding Lightness

I use this one. Certainly not necessary but it gives me peace of mind and can alert you of certain faults like low state of charge or poor cranking amps before it's too late.

    📓 Journals Adding Lightness

I think you can rely on the jump-start function without too much worry. You shouldn't need to trickle charge it anymore than the OEM battery. Lithium holds charge better than lead acid when in storage with no load on it. There will always be some vampire drain on the battery as with most modern...

Income/Finances needed to justify Emira purchase?

Only person that can justify it is you as each person's individual situation, risk tolerance, and values are going to vary wildly. I'm similar age and income to OP but income is mostly irrelevant to a purchase like this compared to net worth IMO. I certainly could've re-invested the $108k cash...

I really don't like the OEM Ferodo pads. They dust as much or more than most track pads I've used and often squeak below 20mph even after bedding-in. I'll likely swap mine out soon for something more street friendly but can still take a decent beating for those spirited drives.

    Baby supercar vibes

Subjective of course. I think that rear end looks way too busy and the oversized diffuser is hideous.

Removal of fugly warning stickers on Sun Visors?

I measured them at 124x80mm. I was able to finally remove mine with a combo of isopropyl alcohol and steam, but it was not fun and left behind a decent amount of adhesive residue. For now it's at least better than the white/yellow sticker right in your face, and is MUCH less noticeable when...

    First Oil Change Service???

Did mine myself at 700 miles and will again at 3-5k, then every 5k after that. I'm somewhat OCD and avoid the dealer or anyone else working on my cars as much as possible. Plus it can be satisfying, cheaper, and more convenient to not have to make an appointment and drive to the dealer.

Removal of fugly warning stickers on Sun Visors?

Excellent idea! Can't believe I didn't think of that. I'm going to try that before using a heat gun. I was able to unscrew the visor assembly from the headliner but the wire for the vanity light didn't seem to have a disconnect. Frustrating.

Removal of fugly warning stickers on Sun Visors?

I took the risk hoping it would be as easy as the Porsche in the video above. The edges came off relatively easily, but most of the adhesive seems to be around the center and it got very tedious very quickly after that. First photo is after 5 minutes and second photo is nearly an hour later. I...

Hey fair enough, their money not mine! Just don't try to tell me it's better and I won't tell you why it's not (which is what started this whole thing). Both sides are equally entitled to their opinions.

At that point why not just go EV though? All the points you mentioned are the same when comparing an EV to an auto. To me, if I want an engaging enthusiast car it will always be manual. If I want faster, simpler to maintain, more efficient, cheaper, more comfort, effortless drive, then it will...

    Seats?

I've never found the seats to be too high, but I do find them too hard and too wide. They clearly tried to cater them to a larger demographic in the Emira (pun intended). I would only switch to aftermarket if the tan leather can be matched, otherwise my interior would look like a mis-matched...

I don't think that would follow the spirit of a break-in. The point is to spend an equal amount of time at all engine speeds below 4k rpm. Doing what you described would still have you sitting at near constant rpm 99% of the drive. How much of this really makes any difference is anyone's guess...

    Popping noise near subwoofer

Already a thread on this here, maybe the mods can combine them? EDIT: Also the sub is an "open air" type located low behind the passenger's seat in the US, but behind the driver in the UK, etc. Location can be seen in these two photos.

Most states in my experience will charge you sales tax on a vehicle if you move within the first 6 months of ownership. You can get around this if you keep the initial state's registration for 6 months, so all you have to pay is registration in the new state. That's a risk because you're...

Who has Milltek's Active Controller Installed?

3rd gear pull to 6k under an overpass last night. The reverb feels more intense in real life due to the low frequencies you can feel. Good fun. Apologies for the vertical video syndrome, byproduct of instagram I suppose.

Who has Milltek's Active Controller Installed?

Installed mine last night and it's also programmed "incorrectly", although I'm starting to think this is actually the correct way and the early batches were wrong. The third button is smaller and offset which would logically mean it would be for the seldom (if ever) used closed valve function...

    Emira and Quick Jack

I am not. I tried mounting the quick jack perpendicular to the car but the front jack points are too closely spaced. The four factory jack points seem to mostly just be placed for convenience for a 4-post lift, but the chassis frame rails they're on run lengthwise like any other car and can be...

    Emira and Quick Jack

Mine is up on quickjacks right now. I have the older BL5000-SLX which is a few inches shorter than the newer (post 2020) 5000 series. It doesn't quite reach the lift points, but as long as you place the rubber blocks on the same aluminum frame joints a few inches inset from them it works fine...

Nimbus Grey Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Went for a lunchtime drive today and ended up in a cool spot, took some quick shots on the phone. Starting to occasionally rev it out past 5k RPM now that I'm around 700 miles and it's been awesome. This car is too much fun! I'm also pretty sure they put the wrong tint on my windshield because...
