    An ode to roads.

I adore Jimny's, it's a shame they're not sold in the US. I've been in Iceland since April for work and have seen some really nicely modified ones that look like the ultimate little adventure mobile. Good to know about Blue Car if I'm ever back here, can't say I recommend Avis...

Anyone else daily driving a Tesla Model 3 Performance?

The Model 3 is still the king daily driver in my opinion. Endless torque, low maintenance, silent, and dirt cheap to run. ICE sports cars like the Emira will be niche toys for me, reserved for a sunny sunday or weekend drive. I reserved my M3P day one on March 31, 2016 when I was 25 (I'm now...

GT4 walkaround. The Italian is access all areas again! 🤩

You get a decent look at the amount of pedal offset on the LHD cars at the 4:45 mark. Looks rather significant. One of the things I'll definitely be checking on a test drive.

First Eletre rolls off Chinese production line.

Over 21,000 Model X's have been sold this year already, and that car is $120-$150K. The $60-$80K Model Y will be over 800,000 units sold in 2022. I think you underestimate the demand for SUV's and EV's worldwide, and in China especially. The Eletre will likely be somewhere in between those...

They're going to sell way more than 5000 Eletre's annually... not sure where you got that info.

    Henry Catchpole - Carfection review

Tesla is the most shorted stock in history. Is it any surprise there are thousands of doom and gloom articles posted about them daily, and by virtue all EV's? Their very existence poses a severe threat to Big Oil. Not to mention an eccentric CEO that loudly questions the status quo at every...

    Henry Catchpole - Carfection review

At this point, I'm not convinced Catchpole's review is coming out. Too little too late... Happy to be wrong though! Also agree with those above about EV charging. The people saying they're still far off are typically those who haven't owned one. Tesla's network has been there for years, and...

    Goodwood - updates and info

The photos you and others posted of the Nimbus car are very clearly the diamond cut wheels. They're the same as the Seneca and Hethel cars.

Let's talk about the new bonnet/hood seal

The rubber seal is because the "hood" (or bonnet for you folks in the UK), is hinged at the front. It's intentional, and a non-issue for me personally.

Top Gear Photos with Chris Harris Track Testing

Very positive overall, and it sounded lovely. Interesting the DV car they had on stage had a perforated leather steering wheel with grey TDC marker. First review yet that's made me more excited to get the car, outside of parts of Harry's.

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

I had to read that over again to make sure I wasn't seeing things.... I hope you were exaggerating to make a point, otherwise you might be the only person on this forum to have never redlined an engine? Mine see redline literally everyday. I can tell you it is absolutely important and a key...

    Lotus Driving Experience Cancelled

This is just embarrassingly poor service at this point. Talk about spitting in the face of your strongest supporters. I hope they remedy these costs for you guys somehow. If this was me I'd likely be respectfully walking away from the brand.

    Compromises

Pretty much exactly how I feel. This was going to be my last ICE car, and as such, my must-haves were: raw/analog feel, manual, mid-engine, quality sound, and lightweight, since all those things will be going extinct soon. The general theme so far is it's missing the raw/analog piece a little...

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

I always enjoy Harry's reviews and this was no exception. Although I've now seen at least 2 instances of the car doing 0-60mph in OVER 5 seconds and 0-100mph is over 10 seconds, which is my only serious concern. Driving experience is the main factor in this purchase, but for me, power and...

    Full reviews incoming?

Me. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford a F8 if I really wanted it, but for 3x the price of the Emira (at minimum) it is not 3x the car. Outright performance is not driver engagement. I stopped caring about the numbers as much when supercars started engineering out the driver to get the best...

Ferrari's stopped being drivers cars a long time ago. Completely different demographic than people who want driver engagement like (most?) Emira buyers.

    Full reviews incoming?

I certainly don't think anyone who gets an auto isn't an enthusiast. I just don't see the benefits outside of inability due to health issues like you alluded to, which makes sense and glad those folks have that option. For all other scenarios, getting an Emira in auto to me is like marrying a...

On a positive note, that exhaust at idle in track mode sounds good. Slightly off door trim doesn't really bother me. I'd rather them get the sound/driving dynamics right and slightly off trim than the other way around. Hopefully production quality will continue to increase and fix that, but not...

    Full reviews incoming?

100% agree. The main reason I'm getting an Emira is it's "modern analog sports car" ethos and one of the last opportunities to have a manual, mid-engined car ever. Short of missing your left leg, why anyone would spec an auto Emira is beyond me. I don't see any benefits?

I only cross-shopped the Emira with an Atom 4. Eventually decided Atom's are overpriced in the US and I could use the Emira way more often than the Atom. Essentially traded some raw viscerality and hardcore track performance for more usability and looks. The GT4 would've been on the list too if...

M2's are awesome, but won't be more rare than an Emira. I see M2's every few days where I live... and a generic looking bloated BMW coupe is hardly prestigious IMO

    Factory Tour Thread

Excellent photos! Maybe the best yet. Quality is looking better each week which is reassuring. Interesting the seat cushion has the contrast black stripe down the middle but the headrest does not. I imagine it will in final production, but I guess only time will tell. Love how classy Nimbus looks.

    Ride height

I suppose I misunderstood the meaning of your post. I just find people who buy cars for the image (often times YouTubers and TikTok-ers, etc.) are the antithesis of car enthusiasts and really sour the experience for everyone else. No condescending tone was meant towards you specifically, but the...

I really hope most Lotus owners are not materialistic posers like this and buy the car for the driving experience and not for the social validation or ego boost. Super cringey. Leave that for the Lamborghini crowd. Lotus is for the drivers... Who cares what strangers think. Being a "brand...

Shadow Grey Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Lol, touché. I'm usually quite positive, but considering there's still no official photos less than 2 months prior to release, is it really any surprise many are voicing concerns with what they're seeing? I hope I'm wrong and the final production quality is what I'd expect of a $100k mid-engined...

Shadow Grey Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Lotus' window supplier (at least on all these pre-production cars) has lots of artifacts and weird refractions. Looks really bad in the rear glass in the photo above. I hope production cars don't have that! It's like orange peel x10 but for glass. Very strange.

    Eletre.... good bad..

The biggest barrier for me is charging network. The only reason I haven't swapped my Tesla for another EV is the inability to easily do longer trips. I drove ~4200 miles from Florida to Seattle last September in my Model 3P and that experience would've been miserable, if not impossible, in any...

    emira acceleration

I believe he's asking why the redline appears to be well below 7000rpm. If you could hold peak power for another ~400rpm it would make a difference.
  35. FlyNavy01

Would you change from V6 to I4 if I4 had 400HP?

No manual = no purchase for me. I'm buying this car purely for the analog and engaging driving experience. As childish as it sounds, spending near $100k on a car with 4-cylinders would just feel disappointing to me, regardless of the performance.

Evora, or Emira, which is the better looking car

The Emira looks better to me from every angle except one, the rear. Both of these cars have the same size rear tires, but the Evora's give the illusion of looking much meatier due to the more exposed rubber from the higher bumper cutoff and lower wheel vents. That, plus the aggressive diffuser...

Evora, or Emira, which is the better looking car

The Emira isn't anywhere near 200kg heavier than the Evora, but actually lighter in base form. Evora GT: 1408kg Emira: 1405kg If you're comparing base 2010 Evora with 2023 Emira than it's still only 21kg heavier. Also semantics, but F-15 and F-22 are 33 years apart (1972 versus 2005). Given...

Interesting Article on the Cost of the Electric Future

I agree, it's a shame, but just the way things are with how our society operates. Extremely inefficient. Especially government! There's more I could say, however I don't feel the need to further add to this discussion as everyone has a differing opinion and only time till well what the true...
