The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

When writing this, I had forgotten that the Elise I was driving had a faster steering rack installed AND had recently received a more aggressive alignment. It’s also on a RaceTech suspension so it’s firm, on its toes and very darty. Emira by comparison was on tour suspension with what I’m...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

Finally got around to driving a LHD model on public roads. I few thoughts still lingering: Over the past two weeks I’ve been driving an Elise and Exige around Exclusivity, and I spent some time on track (as a passenger) in Exige and Evora. It left me kind of wanting something in the middle...

I was simply sharing a nice picture of Nimbus 😇 I swear I tried to post that I would give comments in the test drive thread but the “site was down for maintenance”

Finally got behind the wheel of a LHD on public roads thanks to Tony at @GatorMotorsport . Impressive digs they’re putting together!

    Osmium Silver

Osmium vs. Nimbus is the new Arctic vs. Storm Titanium. Personally I always preferred Storm Titanium and still prefer Nimbus (saying that without having seen Osmium but I assume it's similar to Arctic). The darker shades of Storm and Nimbus will have more dynamic contrast between dark and light...

    Lotus Type 135 EV sportscar

Some quick googling shows Nissan Leaf battery (62 kWh) weighs ~770 lbs and the Toyota V6 is estimated to weigh ~780 lbs. A Tesla drive unit is ~290 lbs. Evora transmission is ~130 lbs Lotus has bought themselves an extra 125 lbs in their target weight over Emira. Seems entirely possible to me.

    Lotus Type 135 EV sportscar

The EV Boxster and Cayman will beat this to market. They’re already out there testing in camouflage.

    Lotus Type 135 EV sportscar

This is the first article I've seen mention 3,300 lbs. Would be great if true. 66 kwh not a ton, but may not have to be if they hit that weight.

My spec also, I will take all of the pictures you're willing to share! This is a rare spec to have painted roof with black wheels and yellow calipers.

First planned trip in your Emira

I had hoped to take mine to Newfoundland for Newfoundland Targa. Epic drive, hitting the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia and taking the oversea ferry to Port Aux Basques. https://www.targanfld.com/ I'm still planning on going, but Emira won't arrive in time for 2023 and this event is typically...

📓 Journals DV arrived in New Zealand

I can't tell you how envious I am that you get to drive that car on your incredible NZ roads. I would be out on Takaka Hill Road on day 1. I've been around the world, from the California coast to the Alps to the Arctic Circle and your roads are still my favorite.

    Emira alternatives

You said it yourself. The engagement. You can’t put that on a spec sheet, and that’s really what it boils down to. The Porsches are near perfect, I don’t want them either.

    The 13 Emira Colors

Is venom green what they call that pearly isotope-ish color? It’s gorgeous. I’d choose this over almost anything else.

    The 13 Emira Colors

I’d still pick Nimbus, although Vivid Red will be nice. Still considering a skittle wrap though. So strange these colors are so tame. There must be hotter colors coming and they’re saving them to drive interest later.

📓 Journals Manual DV Collected from Hethel

I spent time with Emira on the skidpad and managing that wheel felt a bit like juggling pancakes. (Sorry, flapjacks)

    Colors other than FE colors

Are they allowing you to take the "picture" with camera settings? I know some render programs let you adjust aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc. If so, underexposing a little might help.

Nimbus Grey Lotus Emira Photo Thread

I went painted roof. I think the bold colors benefit from black pack but the classier colors (Nimbus, Magma, DV) look just as good if not better with painted roof. I also went red interior and calipers. The change I wish to make is yellow calipers and yellow stitch alcantara instead.

    Colors other than FE colors

I know very little about 3D rendering and love your work here. The photographer in me sees these and thinks they're super close, they just need a little bump in contrast and/or exposure offset. Wheels are a little overcooked in my edit below but I think it gives the paint that extra bit of realism.

📓 Journals Unicorn v6 auto has landed

What I like about this is it's also a bit of a JPS homage. Makes the car looks like it's sitting atop a JPS race chassis or something. "Powered by Lotus F1". I was thinking of doing the same when I got my Nimbus, but I might go a little slimmer on the stripes, stick to the side skirts only and...

    📓 Journals Finally…

Would love to hear a little more detail on why you prefer the handling to the Exige, and please don’t be shy with photos that’sa great spec. For some reason, not a lot of Nimbus shots out there with black wheels, and even fewer with yellow calipers + black wheels.

    📓 Journals JohnHoward's Journal

Random thought, but I’ve just now appreciated that the character line of the rear lighting signature drops down to meet with the character line of the rear vent, tying that whole shape of the rear together. This car is still rewarding visually after two years of obsession.

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

Maybe, but my Tesla had a frunk and I never used it, opting instead to toss whatever I was carrying in the back seat. Seems like the shelf would be similar in how natural it feels to toss stuff back there, rather than find the frunk button, walk around the front and get fingerprints all over the...

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

ok someone measure the volume of the cayman trunk and frunk and compare to Emira trunk and shelf once and for all because I’m a little tired of these reviews giving the Cayman the practicality vote based on the frunk. I have to believe that rear shelf is bigger than the Cayman’s frunk and yet...
