I’ll have to try that and see. It’s been mostly highway and city for me thus far so not a lot of heat going through them. I was super easy on my brakes for the first 400 miles. Around 400 I was having some spirited fun under 4k rpm on a twisty road in southern OH, and the road had a sharp turn...

You guys got fobs? I ordered the Scorpion but there were no fobs at delivery. I was told that Scorpion would reach out to me after. Does that match the experience of others?

    Baby supercar vibes

I think this car is in the conversation with the most beautiful cars of all time. It may not have the same drama as today’s supers or hypers, but every angle is perfect and I can’t think of another car in the post 40 years I’ve felt that way about. As for whether it is super, I think this car...

How does everyone feel about their brakes? Is the overall sensation that the brakes are great? My car feels under-braked. Which is very surprising. The cars I drove at the academy in Hethel had amazing brakes, and while I suspect they may have had upgraded pads it feels weird to go from the...

I've driven 1200 miles on goodyears with sport. It's firm but not harsh. A little bouncy on rough surface streets and porpoises a bit on some concrete highways. All as expected. Happy with the choice.

    $1149$ Oil change price

My local Lotus dealer quoted $360 for the 1,000 mile oil change. I also called a highly trusted local indie euro shop and they quoted me... $380 lol (and they said they'd need it all day). I may end up doing it myself. Just need to buy some ramps.

Emira Issues - from final production cars

Just finished a 1,000 miles ride home and the car is mostly perfect. I have the clunk on full steering lock. I brought it back to Gator and inquired about it, and Owen in service was amazing. Immediately put the car on the lift and confirmed the clunk is the spring moving in its housing, lotus...

Does not feel real. Pictures do not do this spec justice. I am in love with it. The idea behind the spec was “gentleman’s racer”. A classy valet color with race car trimmings. i think it pulls it off. It’s mean, in a sophisticated way. Anyway, some things I’ve noticed now that I’ve lived...

    Dashcam for the Emira

The OBD port has constant power so that’ll be fine for a parking mode. A decent camera should have voltage monitoring to shut itself off before the battery goes flat. You could also look at something like an OwlCam which will also use OBD and includes a native parking mode with cloud upload and...

Funny reason my 3rd brake light wasn't working

Yeah you may want to get in there. I left my Jeep’s hard top in the backyard one summer. Found a similar nest around one of the fiberglass holes and an ungodly smell. Blasted a hose into the holes and muck and dirt flowed out for 20 minutes straight, along with (long dead) mice. Ended up being...

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

Hmmm. This guy out here saying that Lotus told him the V6 was being discontinued and is already sold out. Huge if true. (and he has doubled down in comments) Anyone know anyone at Hethel who can confirm?

    Bumper/Fender fitment and gap correction

That’s a feature. It’s there to remind you it’s a hand-assembled car. With that said, were any of those 3 cars that you inspected on the Gator floor Nimbus no BP with black wheels and yellow calipers? 😅

📓 Journals eriegz's long road towards Emira ownership — an owner journal

Congrats! I enjoyed this read. I can relate to life and priorities changing dramatically in the 3 years since deposits were first placed, and have definitely toiled over similar questions. I also share your krypton dreams.

Post a pic of the car you replaced with your Emira! And impressions too.

I’m not sure if this counts, because it was stolen in 2022. But it was my only car, and Emira will be the follow up. However when I placed a deposit in 2021, my life was very different. I had a 2 door Wrangler, ND Miata and Model 3 Performance. I was trying to transition to a garage of a...

Does it turn differently than a 911?

Hard to simulate those, but you could help the car rotate with a sharper alignment that dials out some understeer. That may need upgraded adjustable control arms. These are popular mods on Elige, but I'm not sure anyone is offering for Emira yet. Still not sure this will make the car point in a...

Does it turn differently than a 911?

Could also be Porsche Torque Vectoring. The 911, if equipped, will apply light brake pressure to the inside rear wheel to help corner rotation. I'd guess you're feeling that, 4 wheel steering, or both.

There Very similar shapes and ergonomics. The flat dash with pronounced trapezoidal binnacle, “infotainment” and shifter are placed very similarly in the eye line with the same reach, similar bolstering and center stitching in the seats. Emira is actually a little closer to the 308, which has...
