    Jethro addresses 'the review'

What I have to ask myself all the time is where have you all got the information from that the Emira is dialed down and less focused compared to the Evora? The GT410 sport had a few more horses and was lighter, that‘s correct. It also had Cup2s as standard and costs 20% more. It was also louder...

    Goodwood - updates and info

Could you describe your impressions a bit more detailed? I'm very curious to how it sounds, how the free air woofer performs, if the Uni-Qs position does work with the tweeter being next to the knee, etc. 😅 Can you maybe compare it to other cars systems?

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

I don't want to argue, I was just wondering why you post a pic from the wrong car. A car that is way less wide and has a completely different presence on the road. That seemed a bit odd to me, because it obviously was no help at all.

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

It's more than 10cm wider than the Evora... I don't think that a picture of the wrong car answers the question.

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

I just saw that you are from California, so you probably really don't know what "wet" or "rain" means. That explains it. You are probably also one of those guys who think that the Goodyears or Pilot Sports 4s are all season tires, right? 😂 Just because I don't have video footage from my own...

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

No they don't ;) It can be seen in many YouTube videos that Cup 2s are even slower than a Pilot Sport 4 in the wet, not to mention the 4S, which would be the equivalent to the Goodyears. And we are talking multiple seconds on a short track. Just look it up. But maybe you are right and all racing...

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

You are either joking and have a very bad humor, or you don't know what rain means. That's completely not true. I've experienced it myself and seen it many, many times on the Autobahn. Such statements can be dangerous for other people that take your words...

    ALCANTARA VS LEATHER

Everything wears, but the real Alcantara is very sturdy.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

I'm very sure that what Matt meant in the video with "first customer car" was in reality the first production spec car. The first production spec cars will be built for dealers however, not for customers, so there probably aren't any real customer cars built just yet.

    ALCANTARA VS LEATHER

First of all there are no quality differences with Alcantara, because Alcantara is the manufacturer of this specific microfiber material. It's name is often used synonymously for those kind of fabrics. Mercedes for example is not using the real deal, but rather a cheaper copy of it. They call it...

oh FFS !! (v6 vs i4 debate in my head)

I also liked them very much, however in the newer iterations, there is no sound left at all. It's a shame.

    How unprofessional is that?

Top Gear Photos with Chris Harris Track Testing

Good question, but there were only a few weeks between those VP cars and the PP cars from the July 7th reviews. So realistically speaking they could have only changed some software bits like the redline and some adjustment and setup things. Maybe even some different springs, but that's it. I...

    Climate Change

I really liked the part where you made fun of all people that don't want to be seen as male or female. That just enlightened me so much. Still waiting for your answer by the way :) No, just kidding, I don't mind hearing from you again and I'm out of here for now. Funny side fact: Methane has 28...

    Climate Change

Yep, 50 years is nothing. But still enough for us to heat up the whole Earth by roughly 1.5 degrees. That's the thing, we are just talking about a timeframe of not more than 100 years where all the magic happened. In your last post you said that if the sun decided to chill a bit, the world would...

    Climate Change

Nice theory, also with a hell of a lot of "woulds and coulds and maybes and I believes", just like the reals scientists you mentioned. You are right that there could be a lot of potential things happening to cause a change in climate. Maybe it was due to the sun somewhere in the past. However...

    Climate Change

Ok, I'm asking this honestly: are you kidding? You are not asking for third grade physics, are you? To make it short: CO2 is a greenhouse gas and absorbs long wave radiation that's coming from the sun. If the energy in form of the radiation is captured by CO2, it can't escape the atmosphere...

    Climate Change

If the sun is driving global warming, could you explain how that can be possible even though solar activity got less during the last 50 years straight while CO2 and temperature were rising during that period? Please get your facts together, also regarding over-population and what comes with it...

    Climate Change

As far as I know the IPCC consists of hundreds, if not thousands of scientist that all share their data and get controlled by each other and by a few hundred other authorities. It's the most legit and reputable institution that one could ever imagine and they all come to the same conclusions...

Official Emira site updated featuring Hethel Yellow media

That wouldn't make sense because its composite panels are lighter than steel could ever be. We were talking about the chassis itself. A construction like the Caymans chassis eats up way more money for development, because it's more complex. They are using many different types of steel and many...

Official Emira site updated featuring Hethel Yellow media

No it shouldn't. Steel is heavier than aluminum, you are right with that, but some people tend to forget that steel is also stronger and therefore you need less. That's why all really big manufacturers stopped using aluminium and switched to high strength steel. Lotus is sticking to bonded...

Official Emira site updated featuring Hethel Yellow media

Why should it be? Do you think the Porsche engineers are dumb? The Emira is 100mm wider, has a supercharger on top of the engine, heavier suspension and a more luxurious interior, yet it still isn't any heavier than the Porsche.
  24. F

Official Emira site updated featuring Hethel Yellow media

Sure, but there won't be a 250 kg lighter version with a carbon tub. I was referring to why the Emira is so "heavy".

Official Emira site updated featuring Hethel Yellow media

Yeah, with Alfa you got the monocoque and nothing more. Not even an engine. Great package as well 👍🏻
  26. F

Official Emira site updated featuring Hethel Yellow media

Probably because the typical Emira buyer doesn't have the money to pay 50.000 to 70.000 extra for a carbon monocoque and all carbon body panels I guess.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

July was my first info, then delayed to September. Don't know what will happen now. I might get a bit of a problem, because I only wanted to register the car from March til October. 😄

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

My dealer just contacted me and told me that they wanted to give me a built date, but Lotus can't confirm anything yet due to missing parts, which might lead to further delays, also they are not yet confirmed. However Lotus has to reschedule all build slots the coming days.

    Perspective on reviews

You can google the EVO track times for Anglesey. The Emira isn't listed yet, but in the print magazine Jethro stated the time he drove with the car from the video with Goodyear tires. To quote him: "Even so, the lap time is a respectable 1:18.5 and with the Cup 2s that would surely improve by a...

    Perspective on reviews

To be fair, if you might have read Jethro's article in EVO 299 about his track experience with the Emira, you would know that it managed a 1:18.5 time, which is decently fast. The Exige S did a 1:19.1, The F82 M4 1:19.2, the AMG GT S with 510 hp did a 1:17.0. Without a doubt the Emira would have...

    Emira event in Melbourne

Normally you can push and pull these hand break switches. Means, you can definitely engage and disengage the hand break manually, but I also guess that the car will automatically engage the hand break when you switch it off. Most cars also disengage it automatically if they sense a certain...

    Curveball

Valid points, but regarding mods I was just talking about a new wheel alignment setup. Costs close to nothing, is done in less than a day and can make dramatic changes without losing any warranty. The Emira definitely has all the ingredients, Lotus might just have been a bit too conservative on...

    Curveball

I also thought about getting an Evora for a few times in the past just because I really liked it, not because of any Emira reviews, but in my opinion it doesn't make any sense (for me). There is one 4 year old Evora GT 410 for sale atm for 90.000€ and the next cheapest is a 3 year old one for...

Is it futile to compare the Emira with Porsche 718/Boxter/Caymen

What you and all the others don't seem to take into consideration regarding the Cayman is that if you have close to two years of lead time, you probably won't get one, because they won't be built that long anymore. At least that's what I guess. They claimed that the Cayman and Boxster will be...

    emira acceleration

hope you realized that this car was displaying kp/h, not mp/h 😄 it took 5.2 to 60mp/h and another 11.7 from 60 to 125. Not that fast indeed. However with better shifting he could be quite a bit faster.

    Motortrend Review
