    Lexus LC500

Regarding the Corvette and Emira's build quality, they're both subpar. Luckily, I own an American car so I'm well prepared. Every car has issues. The difference is high quality cars have a small number of known issues due to the manufacturing process being streamlined. Meanwhile the Corvette...

    V6 Auto 0-60mph change?

AWD autos have the advantage over RWD manuals off the line. If the s5's stock turbo was spooled at launch (I assume it was), then game over for the Emira. All the Audi needs is foot on the gas and brake to achieve 4.3. Meanwhile the Emira needs the clutch slipped at 4500k, no lift shifts and a...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

Excellent review! I've thought this for so long! The shifter felt exactly like the RSX and the clutch like the Mazdaspeed 6. I think the TSX shifter feels a little heavier and slicker but I agree it's in the same realm.

    V6 Auto 0-60mph change?

Certainly apples to apples. Feel free to fact check me. 0-60 time will always be multiple tenths faster than 0-100, anywhere from 0.2-0.4 s due mainly to the extra speed required to reach, the potential for an extra shift and potential to fall out of power band. Evidence below! 1. Data point...

    V6 Auto 0-60mph change?

I've tried 0-60 numerous times in my Challenger. I measured 4.7 s once as an outlier, but consistently get 4.8 - 5.0 s on 275 width tires. Have to manage tire spin the whole run. My fastest and most consistent runs are with stability control full on. I don't use launch control or no lift...

    V6 Auto 0-60mph change?

There is one confirmed time for the manual. A german magazine measured 0-100 at 4.6 s. That equals 0-60 in 4.3 s. If rollout wasn't omitted, then the 0-100 becomes 4.3 s and 0-60 becomes 4.0 s.

    V6 Auto 0-60mph change?

Looks like an error..... unless they snuck in a final drive ratio or calibration change on the auto.

Osmium Silver looks lethal. The way it matches the silver wheels is 🔥.

Hi Team, look what I can buy for $63K! thoughts?

The M2 is a great choice. Will be fun to drive and practical. However, I'd personally prefer a purer sports car (GR86) or a purer sport executive (IS500) for my dollars.

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

I think If touring is framed as the grand touring option, and sport the sports car option, then the decision is simple to make. That's not to mean that the touring can't sport and the sport can't tour.

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

In all fairness, on a short test drive with a bad route or with limited revs, most drivers would not get enough of a chance to explore the Emira's nuisances and dynamics, especially if they were not searching or interested in said nuisances. That's not a knock on the car. The Emira's learning...

Another 718 GT4 vs. Emira Test Drive

Great read! Appreciate your feedback. The comments about doing less work and being more disconnected from the driving experience resonated. For sure, a car that's filtering and correcting steering and throttle inputs will inspire more confidence right off the bat and offer more accessible...

    Your Top 1-2 Emira Reasons

I think the Emira is peak motoring. The blend of driving engagement, mid engine + manual trans, phenomenal styling and comfort is the pinnacle of driving enthusiasm.

    Baggy seat base

Alcantara will hold up exponentially better than leather. But it looks drab and the crunch can be annoying.

Lotus is working class artisinal. They're inherently more likely to play fast and loose with tolerances vs. larger operations.

Just been offered a C8……dilemma! Help me decide…

Take the corvette. If choosing the Emira is a dilemma, it's probably not worth it. Many of it's merits over the corvette will be unappreciated / unnoticed to the common sports car buyer, but the demerits will be noticeable.

Building momentum in (very) positive review

I personally haven't noticed a shift. Outside of a couple snooty British journalists, elige owners and forum posters with exorbitant expectations, I've witnessed critical acclaim everywhere else since the reveal, unless reliability or network is the topic at hand. American car magazines...

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

I understood your comments to mean road surface texture and undulations, not steering feel. Agreed that anything you feel is feedback. It's readily apparent that sport will have higher handling limits than touring. Stiffer springs means they will transmit more load before max compression. It...

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

That jitter is road feedback. So the question is how much is preferred? Just as tour doesn't seem excessively floaty, sport doesn't seem excessively harsh. Both have merit. I do feel that the "jitteryness", combined with the noise, shifting and steering adds to the sporting experience. It gives...

First Editions Options vs Base Spec - What options do you consider essential?

Not to mention track mode includes the track instrument cluster with shift lights. As frivolous as it sounds, I need that!

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

I think Lotus should have split the difference between tour and sport, offering just 1 setup. However, given the two options, I feel sport makes more sense for people who can't decide between the two, like me. Touring is more practical but sport will offer more feedback. I felt that sport was...

First Editions Options vs Base Spec - What options do you consider essential?

The major price increase definetly has an effect on which options are considered essential. For me, it comes down to the Design pack (w/ privacy) and the Driver's Pack (w/ sport). Heated tan nappa, open gear mesh, steering wheel with red stripe, kef and alacantara headliner are all highly...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

FE price increased from $93900 to $105400 in the US. The Emira no longer feels like a value at that price point and a lot more cancellations will rightfully follow.

    Actual 0-60 Times?

German magazine records 0-100kmh in 4.6s which translates to 4.3-4.4s 0-60 as tested. Which lines up perfectly with Lotus estimates, as well car and drivers. Looks like everyone has an actual time now that confirms lotus claims. The end!! Crisis averted. Also of interest, Lotus claims the same...

    Actual 0-60 Times?

A 3% change in weight is adding a fat suit? That's the equivalent of going from 190 lbs to 195.7 lbs. All that takes is a big meal. Not to mention that fat suit got you more room and features which are optional. Youtubers were probably referring to the added refinement, sound deading and the...
