Increase in road tax (VED) to hit the Lotus Emira V6

I hope you're right, but the video states quite clearly that vehicles registered from 2017-2025 (mine) will now pay the £195 std fee, plus the 5 year suplement of £600 (up from something like £375)

<2025 Emira road tax year 2 to 6 will, according to this video, be going up from £600/ year to £795/ year. Anyone got any gunpowder? I loath my Government.

    5 Spoke alloys

Anyone interested in a set of 5 Spokes alloys for their Emira? These are forged alloy, exact size & fitment as OEM emira (though a few kg lighter) Very similar style to the Ferrari 458 Italia wheels. I have a set on my Emira in gold, these are identical, but in silver. Brand new unused, still...

📓 Journals My DV Emira and modifications

No, That's a pic posted on this forum by an owner that was unlucky enough to suffer the main loom plug failure from water ingress, and Bell & Colvill stripped it out (as seen) to replace the looms. As I said in my journal thread, fortunately, I inspected my looms/plug, and it was dry & clean...

📓 Journals My DV Emira and modifications

They should be replacing the loom that runs through the cockpit, and the front loom. It's the large plug joining these looms together that suffers water ingress when a couple of the holes in the swiss cheese line up, ie, poor/missing plug main seal, and the standard windshield drainage system...

Auto100 - UK Trader in Sutton in Ashfield

Items 3 & 4, front loom & fuse box are a big issue. I discussed it, with pics here: https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/my-dv-emira-and-modifications.3798/page-4 And as shown by pics from other members, the job of replacing the looms (front and rear need doing) requires a pretty heavy stripdown.

The Dealers didn't own those demo cars. (during the direct sales model period) Lotus loaned the cars to the dealers, and paid a 'fee' for each demo performed.

Poll for Those with Paint Blistering / Bubbling Defect

I stopped by Bell & Collvil today. There was a 2024 DV Emira on the forecourt, with very bad blistering on one door. Odd thing was, the area in question had some lines, the sort you see where in prep, the sanding has feathered the edge of paint, primer etc, and when the topcoat has been applied...

Poll for Those with Paint Blistering / Bubbling Defect

I think if it were paint related, those with pull PPF would be way less likely to have issues, but I think plenty of folk with issues, have PPF, as a few have mentioned the warranty door replacement, included the re application of PPF. I think that if it's moisture, it's coming through from the...

Poll for Those with Paint Blistering / Bubbling Defect

That's a very generous view. I think they should be tearing the subcontractor to bits. You'd like to think there would be a powerful contract in place about quality, and liability over their product.

Poll for Those with Paint Blistering / Bubbling Defect

My car probably isn't a very good litmus test, as it's garaged, doesn't get used in the wet unless I get caught out, and gets washed very carefully, very rarely with a hose.... yeah I know, a garage queen. :ROFLMAO: But, does anyone reading here, treat their car similarly, and still have...

Poll for Those with Paint Blistering / Bubbling Defect

It's plausable that the manufacturer in Portugal has lax control of the process, meaning some batches get a more accurate resin/catalyst ratio than others, or satisfactory mixing of the resin, temp or humidity during the curing process or some other variable. These things effect GRP manufacture...

    Replacing rear window

I fitted a new rear glass myself, in my case, it was because I wanted the factory tint (privacy) on the rear only, not to include the side rears, so I ordered without privacy, then changed the rear. The hard bit was getting the old one out, and you don't really have that issue, from there in...

Poll for Those with Paint Blistering / Bubbling Defect

I'm intending to change my door speakers at some point soon. Whilst I have the door cards off, I will look into getting decent access and sealing the inner surface of the door skin, and dealing with anywhere that looks to be a water trap. (mine doesn't have any bubbling at all (yet), but I...

Poll for Those with Paint Blistering / Bubbling Defect

I'm not sure I agree here. Am I right in thinking the McLarens are an alloy skin? I thought they sufferred bubbling from corrosion of the alloy skin? bad prep, or bad primer would deff cause that. Stripping, and re etch-priming Aluminium is very different to doing the same with composite (some...

Poll for Those with Paint Blistering / Bubbling Defect

I think we need to establish exactly what's causing this blistering (as it appears that Lotus are not too interested). It wouldn't surprise me to learn that a bean-counter at Lotus has decided that changing the doors on the ones that are affected, 'once' during warranty, is the cheapest option...

I get that, but these cars all came with a second key, just seems real odd they're not kept in a pack that goes with the vehicle. pack to include: 2 keys, V5, handbook, service book, etc etc. It's not like they're years old and been through a load of owners, where you might expect these type...

Auto100 - UK Trader in Sutton in Ashfield

I wonder why all of these Auto100 cars are missing the 2nd key? That makes no sense. You'd think there would be a pack that stays with each car containing anything associated with it, like any other car, certainly like the Emira is when new. Unless of course it's deliberate for some weird...

    Replacement valves for 2GR-FE

JUBU say that the pistons & rods are the weak link (disregarding transmission power limits for now), and that torque is the piston killer, with their limit being circa 500nm when using stock pistons & rods. Their Syvex ecu @ 440hp, peaks at 504nm. The next tune up, is 460hp, but they fit a...
