Shame you ended up on the motorway on the test drive. The standard route really does not offer any opportunity to test the car in the areas a Lotus excels.

The Euro 7 regulations which are due to come into effect in 2026. These were expected to demand significant improvements in emissions but they are not yet defined and the latest suggestions are that they have been watered down so that the won’t impact existing Euro 6 compliant petrol engines.

Sounds like Lotus are trying to get their comms in better shape with some upfront planning. Unfortunately someone has accidentally clicked send on emails lined up for releases in late February as well as the one scheduled for this month.

For reference, I think Topaz wanted about 2.5K for just the front and sills when I asked. This was months ago though, back when I thought I was getting a car in Spring, so it may well have changed since, although what @Tonygcar quotes sounds about the same as they quoted for the full car.

If demo cars are 2 weeks away (or have apparently arrived at one dealer) I would have thought the centralised test drive process would have kicked off by now to schedule people in. I assume I haven't missed anything and at this point no one has been contacted to book a slot.

I find it difficult to understand how LHD parts are more available than RHD parts. The items being mentioned are all things I would expect to be bespoke to the Emira, dash units and pedal boxes for example. Even seemingly simple parts like coolant hoses are usually custom to a specific engine...

While some people in the UK may work 37 hours a week this is not an upper (or lower) limit, or even the norm. If they are doing 4 days of 10 hour shifts then they will be doing 40 hours a week.

You will find that US WHP readings from dynos are always much higher (~20%) than those from a UK/euro dyno. This is across the board and not related to a under rating by a specific manufacturer/vehicle/engine or the general lack of controlled conditions at a test facilities. I am not sure why...

When I requested confirmation of my spec I was told to check it using my personal configurator link. For me this was correct and included the post lock change of calliper colour - requested late dec/early jan when it became apparent that the provisional spec we had provided had been locked in.

I am being told my June then July delivery is now an August build and September delivery :( Given the experience so far I am not sure how much confidence I should have in that being met.

Is that a chunk missing out of the right hand edge of the mirror? Indicator repeater missing?
