Supercharger is 'always on' - it's directly connected via a pulley.

Can't you change your spec at any time regardless? Up to the final commitment obviously. The deposit (to my knowledge) simply secures your build slot?

I wouldn't want to be in the business of making engines and gearboxes right now - that's for sure. However, I wouldn't be at all surprised if a magic clean fuel turned up that would allow the ICE cars, and their gearboxes to remain. The Politicians do have a habit of making up rules for things...

I think there are assumptions being made. I still imagine I have a long wait - and maybe it's simply that Lotus are trying to forward plan. The earlier they know what people are going to want, the smoother the process.
