In the Evora, you can easily hear the intake noises when both driver and passenger windows are down. You have to be somewhat aggressive on the throttle to hear the supercharger whine, but it is there.
No offense intended (seriously), but when I initially read the title “I’m back, but different…”, I thought it was a gender reveal thing.
Goodbye TomE. Hello Tommie.
Factory privacy glass normally does not offer additional UV protection. At least that’s what I found online when researching. It wasn’t specific to Lotus.
I noticed they were not driving in Sports mode, thus the 6800 redline as opposed to 7000.
The whole immobilizer thing was funny. In reality, if the car is parked, you just walk up to it... press the unlock button on the key… get in… stick the key in the ignition… then press the start button...
I’ve had it before it was useless. Even when driving on track I’m not looking at it. It may be useful if it keeps some history for reference after a hard run.
This is exactly what turned me off when I had contacted Lotus of Jacksonville 8 months ago. Everyone including Lotus of North America was saying deposits were refundable up to a certain point, but these guys had their own rules.
No complaints about their service department though.
Back when I placed the deposit, Lotus of Orlando stated (written) that they would sell for MSRP. It's worth calling 2 or 3 dealerships closest to you to see if anyone has an allocation as people drop over time.
Welcome. My allocation for Emira is also with Lotus of Orlando. I had zero prior experience with them, but Paulo has been straight forward and very responsive.
I did not order Emira from Lotus of Jacksonville/World Imports because they were asking double ‘non-refundable’ deposit. This was...
I have a 1 min video of Shadow Gray in day light from the roadshow. I would post it here, but not sure how to share videos here. It looks nice and not as blah as it does indoors.
Different animals, but…
PDK = perfect and potentially boring because it does everything so well.
Evora GT auto = very good. It has 6 gears. Gear ratios are long, but not as long as a Cayman. In normal mode it is very smooth and behaves like a good auto transmission. If you are going from A...
I wonder if it's the same 416hp tune, but they are reporting/marketing a lower number? For example, BMW engines on paper say 400hp, but they feel faster than other 400hp cars with similar weight, and the numbers they put down suggest higher power than advertised.
If you value it then wait for it. The only feature I would miss is blind spot monitoring. Having said that, I don’t have any of these in the Evora and I am totally fine without them.
I took this picture couple of weeks ago. The name and details of the car were stuck on the windshield. I was with kids and did a quick glance, but couldn't remember what it was called!
I am not a Lotus fanboy, but after driving many nice and fast German cars, I wanted something with even more soul and character than BMW M and Porsches. I never found Audi's to have much soul, including the R8. I currently drive an Evora GT (yes, with an auto). I'm happy with it and looking...
Would you say the shape of the production seats look more like the red seat poster on the wall inside the factory? I think Harry's Garage video shows it.
Try putting the existing battery on the tender for a day (assuming you haven't tried this already). It may come back to life. Sorry folks, we're having a 1:1 conversation here.
I believe full leather seats were an extra cost option on the Evora. I want to say standard was leather/alcantara.
Emira may follow the same formula starting with leather/fabric, then leather/alcantara and then full leather. This is total speculation on my part.
The Evora has an extension/harness thingy in the trunk that is hardwired to the battery. It makes it easier to plug the Lotus supplied battery tender because the battery itself lives inside a little compartment, and this compartment has a cover with 4 screws on it.
