Im sure Matt had good intentions when he made the video about a price pledge but he can’t see into the future. The debacle lies with operations who can’t build them. Be thankful it’s a small rise, Cadburys put their chocolate up by 25% and offered slightly less for that increased price.
You are...
Good luck in the courts , a video with good intentions from Matt isn't admissible evidence. Be grateful it's only a small increase. Next year it will be more again.
But you dont have a contract, there's an option for you to purchase a car and for them to sell you one. The deposit placed isn't a contract at a specific price and isnt a contract.
I ended up buying a 21 plate Ftype Coupe 450 with all the options as I loved the vantage but not the interior.
Leonard mentioned the new Ftype and I was hooked on the 5 litre engine and the looks - yes its a GT.
Soon to go to Viezu for pulley and stage 1 tune taking it from 450bhp to 620 bhp.
It's a shame Lotus chose to band improved quality as though if you say it enough it happens. Even first adopters had the luxury of knowing thousands of test car hours had ensued making sure these kind of faults aren't produced.
I just bought my non Lotus - given account sort code , account number and name on the account - hey presto bank app validated account details - confidence restored.
Who does Lotus think is going to hack its bank account, China ?? :)
This was partly my concern on cancelling, my checkout spec was different to that I had changed and locked in on January 2022. No one at LCS could tell me what my actual spec of car was, apparently its on different spreadsheets that have to be aggregated together.
You can take the matter to the...
I settled on a 2 year old V8 AWD Ftype with all the options and 6k miles on the clock, comes nest week from Kent. I loved the Noise and drana of the vantage but used prices are steep. The Ftype won because it had,In my mind, a more cohesive interior. I'd also have an AMG and R8 too. Enjoy
Great news for Emira owners WBAC has moved from offering around 63k for a new one to £78.5k for a car with 200 miles on it, used the collecting cars yellow reg. Other cars im interested in have slumped this week by as much as 10k! wow
Snap, I've realised I'm more of a GT man - but boy those Emira looks. I will come back to a Lotus in a few years when hopefully my worries about after care have been addressed. I'm still keeping my private plate for the lotus on retention for now.
The fly in the ointment is the base v6 at £66k. What I’ve noticed used values don’t actually factor in much cost for optional extras on other cars. For instance an Aston Martin with 30k of options is only 7-9k more than a base vantage of same year and age.
I think cars sold in the first few...
Probably because they can offer finance and consider a p/x used car. But i agree if you are a cash buyer as most will be for overs you may as well buy privately for cheaper.
Was yours the AWD as the P450 I drove today felt very steady, steering wasn’t as good as the lotus but the power was dramatically better as was the exhaust note in dynamic mode. Stage 1 retune these make 600hp and over 700nm torque.
Well let’s hope for Lotus sake they sell as many Emiras as jag has F types. Good looks is one thing, at least you’ll be on first name terms with the Lotus service manager.
Asked for my deposit back before a new credit card was issued. I sat in a 18 month old f type p450 and it looked good and the interior was just excellent, coupled with a 56k price for an 11k miler it seems a no brainer , provided it drives decent which I'll test soon. Plus it can be tuned easily...
I think more people are realising its the emperor's New clothes. I don't think the base I4 looks value now against competition 18 months old. The interior may be the best Lotus has made but it isn't as good as the competition and you spend more time in the interior then looking at the car...
If you look at the F type colours available you can see where the Emira colour palette came from. Having sat in a 2021 F type today I can say the interior is much much better than the Emira, it feels solid and classy materials.
So I've had confirmation from Lotus - I had my checkout email before xmas and wanted to be put on the I4 FE queue.
They have told me its a case of take it or leave it. -id have to put a new deposit on an I4 and go to the back of the Q.
I have till tomorrow to decide on receiving my car or...
If you work out the permutations on the build of an Emira, colour, wheels, calipers, seat, suspension, black pack, steering wheel, privacy glass et it runs into thousands of build iterations - no wonder they have trouble with the orphaned car.
Well that's the F types gone from Autotrader @Leonard , thought we were keeping that quiet. Plus they have depreciated massively if you buy 18 months old and get a stage 1, supercar baiter.
Same options as me but Astons come with 5 year servicing included, if you can stretch to less than 5 year model
Don’t sweat, wait for base i4 pricing options.
Let's be honest it's a lotus magazine they arent going to say it's rubbish or average and it isn't. It's a solid 7.5 out of 10 car, an 8 if it's Nimbus!
I think if you are having a car delivered soon hot foot it down to hethel , see your car being produced and write on the chassis in several places VIP - I believe this is the workflow process for a quality Emira leaving the production line.
