    2.0 Turbo Engine & Transmission Noise(s)

I’m pretty sure you’re right and it’s just the high pressure fuel system. In regard to the whirring sound, I’ve noticed it goes away after a few miles of driving, so it must just need to warm up. It’s funny you mention an Italian tune up; the car is an ex-demo which is why I’m slightly paranoid...

    Missing Interior Bits….

Unfortunately I suspect I've missed the boat at this point so I'll put it down to experience.... I've been more preoccupied with the shocking state of the paintwork to be honest (I didn't go back to them about that either so they've got off lightly!). Brilliant, thanks Nick. At those prices...

    Missing Interior Bits….

My I4 has a couple of bits missing from the interior that I’d like to install (or replace, assuming they were once present!). How I missed these issues when I collected the car I’ve no idea; it’s been a lot of years since I bought a used car and I guess as it was practically new I was...

    2.0 Turbo Engine & Transmission Noise(s)

Thanks, I had a look at the thread but I don't think it's the same pinging sound. I run the car on 99 RON (E5) which may prevent it as well (unless anyone using the same fuel has experienced it?). I've been out in the car today and tried recording it, but it doesn't really come across on the...

    2.0 Turbo Engine & Transmission Noise(s)

I’ll try recording it, but it’s not noticeable on the reviews I’ve watched so it may be difficult to capture fully. In regard to the engine I’d describe it as sounding “tappety”, especially at low revs and light throttle. It doesn’t matter if the car is accelerating, decelerating, or...

    2.0 Turbo Engine & Transmission Noise(s)

The only Emira I've been in is my own so I've nothing to compare it against, but when driving gently/normally my car doesn't sound great. There's a pronounced ticking which I presume is the fuel injection system, and a whirring noise from the transmission, which is all slightly reminiscent of...

New Colours added to the UK Configurator

For me the green is the “safer” option (it looks similar to the Mean Green on my Fiesta ST!), but I think the purple is going to look incredible. They’re both the antithesis of my Cosmos Black, which is also an amazing colour (obviously!). :)

    Lotus Evija

Have they sold the full allocation of Evijas? It’s an insane piece of engineering as you say, but (and this is only my personal view) electric supercars/hypercars have limited appeal beyond the numbers. They’re great as technology demonstrators, but if I was spending that kind of money (which...

    Evija - it actually exists!

I saw this one in Lotus London at the weekend (it was difficult to get a decent photo as there were so many people around it). It may be the same one @jve saw looking at it. Please Lotus, drop in a Cosworth V12! :D

Spotted: Emiras seen in the wild

Ah sorry I mustn’t have been looking properly! There were some lovely cars in your group (yours included obviously!). Mine was languishing in the public car park unfortunately, but at least it got a run out.

V8 Emira being considered to replace V6

I totally agree! Funnily enough I saw this yesterday at Lotus London:

V8 Emira being considered to replace V6

I’ve always thought that setup could work in the Emira (possibly even transversely?). There’s a load of Lotus-Ford history there as well that they could play on. Apologies in advance for the pedantry(!), but it’s not actually the Ford GT engine - same family though obviously.

The Break-In Period No One Talks About (V6 Manual, Sports Suspension, Cup 2)

Coming from a long line of hot/hyper hatches I completely agree. The Emira is a whole different experience!

Matt Windle promoted, says he wants to build more cars at Hethel

I agree, especially in regard to the dealer network. My nearest is the best part of 2.5 hours away which isn’t great (certainly by UK standards!). I live in a “regional capital” as well so it’s not like I’m out in the sticks!

    Cracked windscreen

Nothing would surprise me…. The screenshot below supports what Lotus Bradford quoted (sorry not sure how to link to the post on my phone!):

Lotus Bradford quoted me circa £1.2k for a new windscreen the other week, so that’s a lot of labour!

    Oil Consumption

Interesting, thanks. The only thing I’d say is that when I topped mine up, it picked up the extra 300ml after a couple of minutes idling on the drive. It’s maybe different if you actually change the oil though and the system needs to completely recalibrate.

    Oil Consumption

I think it's a case of having to keep an eye on it, as clearly it can go up as well as down. Fluctuations between minimum and maximum seem to be normal behaviour; if it's only going down and/or drops below minimum then I'll be concerned!

    Oil Consumption

Thanks for the replies guys. I took the car out for a short drive last night, and by the end the oil level had mysteriously increased to 6.0 litres.... As suggested, I think it can be put down to the display being inaccurate which is actually reassuring! I completely agree regarding the lack...

Spotted: Emiras seen in the wild

There was a show on at Croft Circuit on Saturday with a Dark Verdant and Hethel Yellow (both V6s) on the Lotus stand. Anyone here?

    Oil Consumption

I'm interested in hearing about other peoples experiences in regard to oil consumption. According to the dash display, when I collected my car (with just over 1000 miles on the clock) the oil level was at 5.6 litres. It recently dropped to 5.5 litres (the car had covered just over 300 miles in...

New Member - North East England

Thanks. I'll get some pics and post them in the Cosmos thread; I haven't actually got any decent ones yet! I thought there used to be a dealer in Newcastle but wasn't sure if I was imagining it! It would be nice to have one locally! I wasn't aware that Bradford had a poor reputation and would...

New Member - North East England

I’ve been reading the forum for the last few weeks since collecting my Emira, and thought it was time to say hello! The car is an i4/2.0 turbo/AMG (what’s the official designation these days!) which I bought with just over 1000 miles on the clock as an ex-demo. Despite there being quite a few...
