    Lotus 3rd Phone Call

This makes sense again, maybe. There’s really no need for another deposit? All points to scheduling builds of the 2nd deposit configurations. Be interesting to see what the production manager comes back with. Maybe some changes are easier to do (e.g. wheel/tyre choice) but if it’s a big one...

    Lotus 3rd Phone Call

In a way this makes sense. They may well have worked out production schedule based on specs from deposit #2 and that's got to be a part of enabling them to make call 3 and confirm June for the early depositors. Changes might be a real headache for them? In a weird way I wouldn't mind as it would...

    Lotus 3rd Phone Call

Good to have some positive news overall though.. with leniency for covid related issues, marketing have only stretched the definition of Spring by 1 day. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/learn-about/weather/seasons/spring *waits by phone*

Alternate configurator renders of the other 4 FE colors

Thanks @Eagle7 this is great work! The green keeps on trying to lure me. Would love to see it with dark gold wheels (Lambo or similar).

    Configurator: Colour Update online

I'm really not a fan of the bright silver kef speaker grilles. I thought they looked a bit tacky in the blue demo car. And too big.

    Configurator: Colour Update online

Agree the green looks much nicer, very tempted. And you're right the lighting on the wheels is a bit poor. This detail wasn't on the black pack before IIRC, and the lettering on the rear panel now changes a bit more obviously.

    Configurator: Colour Update online

Did we already know some territories are getting 'Emira' on the seat instead of Lotus. I hope the QA on the cars is better than on the web tech.

    Emira Custom Plates

Yeah I kind of like the fact it will be from 'launch year' regardless.

    Emira Custom Plates

I picked this up a few weeks back, on basis there’s no badge on back and it’s a bit of fun. Car people will get it I think. Though does require delivery before 1st Sept!

Paint protection film (PPF) — questions & comments

I've found ceramic takes cleaning from enjoyable to quite joyous. I don't think I'll ever get bored of the magic water removal with the towel (buy a good towel..)

What other “raw” cars have you owned ?

My 1990 Mini Cooper RSP, been in the family since new. Restored a few years back and upgraded to '1380 S' 110bhp spec (available from John Cooper in the early 1990s.) Don't let the fancy seats fool you, it's definitely a raw experience!

FE Deposit done but want to test drive before the final commitment...

Does feel a bit like taking your life in your hands (even with disc brakes) but a lot of fun.

FE Deposit done but want to test drive before the final commitment...

Yes the GR is circuit pack. One thing I didn’t mention is the power comparison. I felt the Evora was like a whoosh whereas the Yaris is like an an angry terrier. Not a complaint, just different. I’m not used to RWD or bigger engines (have a fast road 1380 classic mini and 1293 frogeye sprite)...

FE Deposit done but want to test drive before the final commitment...

This has been running around in my mind after test driving a GT410 Sport today. The objective was to confirm suspension choice. To get that out of the way first, for me and my guess is most committed petrol heads Sport is the way to go. It's firm but in no way crashy or too much. I'd driven...

If my delivery date is after Sept 1st this will be for sale (the plate not the car!) Subtle but petrolheads will get it was my thinking.

FE Deposit done but want to test drive before the final commitment...

Not trying to put you off but I think the Emira is going to be far from raw, compared to focused track metal. At least until the stripped out models, if/when they arrive. They're making a point of describing it as 'asking nothing of you' compared to Elise, Exige and even Evora. It's like a...

Mud flaps and Lotus fitted protected film

Liquid PPF is a new one on me. What's their view around being able to repair it if it gets marked, or even wanting to remove it. Or is that just not 'a thing' if you go for it. Those prices are very good compared to full traditional PPF, I've been ballpark quoted £3-4k to do the Emira fully.

+1 for ceramic coating. I have Modesta on a car and it’s amazing stuff. Washing is a joy. Though am planning to PPF some surfaces of the Emira.

Does look very stuck on doesn't it. I keep wanting to move it across into the recess.
