I’ve been playing with the AI image generator Midjourney. It’s given me some truly weird interpretations of a 2025 Lotus sports car, but I thought these two were worth sharing…

Wow. Ha, even more like a Ferrari, or how a Ferrari should look!
I like the more slippery shape on that.

Ha, no wonder I like it.. It is a Ferrari F430 (though mine is a spyder) :)

It looks like a nice blend between a McLaren 570 and an Emira.

For those who have access to Midjourney v5, my most successful prompt was:

A photorealistic image of the 2025 Lotus Emira in Magma Red, parked outside an old English cottage. This model should be based on the current model Lotus Emira, but with slightly sleeker lines and design. The sleek sports car is depicted in exquisite detail, with a shiny, polished finish that gleams in the sunlight. The body of the car is crafted from lightweight, high-strength materials, with a futuristic design that blends seamlessly with the classic lines of the English architecture. The car is parked on a gravel driveway, with the old English cottage visible in the background, surrounded by lush greenery and trees. The scene is bathed in warm, golden light, casting a soft glow over the car and the surrounding countryside. The image is so realistic that you can almost feel the warmth of the sun on your skin and hear the crunch of the gravel underfoot. --v 5 --s 50

I think the main issue is mentioning a red sports car. The majority of images out there would be Ferraris and the Tesla (the nose of the first image is undoubtedly Ferrari, and the side profiles do have a lot of the Roadster). I might try Nimbus as a starting colour, and use an Emira image as the seed. But still… crazy stuff.

I got this by mashing together three Magma Red Emira images. Obviously there are a LOT more red Ferrari images out there (the AI keeps using them to extrapolate “new” Emiras). I’m seeing 296, F8… plus C8, Lambo, and a few Emira pieces. Best of all worlds?

If you ask for orange or yellow will it pick out Lamborghini’?

Lotus might have gone this route as, remember, they were taking styling cues from the Evija and previous V6 models for brand authenticity - which is correct. These look too much like Ferraris/existing cars and less like a Lotus.

I like the fact that the Emira retains some Lotus identity.

I'd buy that for a dollar! (showing my age with the movie reference). I hate to say it but the computer nailed it. I rather like the clean hood over the Voldemort nostrils.

Now come on I want everyone to be honest here....

Who's putting down an extra early deposit on this new EV when it becomes available ?

Certainly won't be me as I simply couldn't take the pain again what with it being completely new and being built at Hethal.
