I was told by Lotus CC that if I did switch from FE i4 to base i4, then I would go into a different queue (and so probably, later delivery). I think you can still select from the wider colour choice (for FE or base).

I just sold my mclaren 570s spider after 2 years and have to say it doesnt have horrific running costs (for a supercar - its on a different league to an emira) but filiform corrosion is why I got out of it in the end (before the 5 year body warranty expired).

Agree. I have reserved an i4 FE, but it has a lot of things (like the expensive stereo) I would not spec. I am thinking I will see, when the base i4 comes out, how much cheaper it will be to get a base with spec what I want. Of course, doing that may delay things and mean I end up suffering...

37 Emira's on AutoTrader now (7 under £80k). Must be even more with PH and Lotus dealers unadvertised ones. If this happens for the i4 (the one I want) and my spec comes up, think I'll just buy it and skip the wait. It seems a lot to be on sale considering they are not building vast numbers -...

No chance getting 93k or anywhere near! Must say, if I wanted a v6 I think I'd have gone for one of used ones I've seen lately (some have less than 100 miles) and skipped the wait. Dont understand why people sell them so quick - surely they didnt expect to make a killing on them?

Where did you see ''the first 150 China cars are pre production and full of niggles'? I was just commenting that if these cars have been built, its strange no one from the motoring press has reported on them. For me, the i4 engine/DCT is the one I want - hopefully it will not dissapoint.

Someone mentioned that Lotus staff were saying they are building the i4 now. If thats true, isnt it weird the motoring press havent been driving them? As someone who has an i4 on order (without having driven one), this is of immense interest!

https://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=USD&to=GBP seems to show the USD weakening vs GBP over the past year, so at spot rates, it would take more USD to buy the same amount of GBP. Would have thought a car company would hedge in any event, but thats a guess!

So emailed Owen at Lotus (Ashford) asking "just wondering if, after your Hethel visit, you are still confident the 2.0 emira will be available for a test drive around July?" and he replied "Still confident - they had 2.0 Litre cars being built on the line when I was there, so looks like things...

Wish those diamond cut wheels went all the way around (like my mclaren). As they are, I have opted for silver instead.
