    It’s not just LCT. It doesn’t cost Lotus that much to import etc - for some reason car companies think Aussies have more disposable income so they charge more It’s price gouging.

    Don’t even get me started on the pricing. $150 000 for the base model i4?! Add another $10 000 onto that for on road costs and you’re looking at $160k for a 4 cylinder car that doesn’t even having a reversing camera as standard. The UK free trade agreement also means Lotus no longer has to pay...

    I can understand why people would think that. But at the same time, Matt Windle was talking about the reduced production costs and that people would be “surprised at the price” (or something along those lines). I’m not surprised :/ I do agree that it would be marketed as a more premium product...

    Lotus have automated a lot of their processes though, which, is supposed to result in a much lower cost to build So it’s not unreasonable to think it would be cheaper

    This is only speculative of course, but I saw a few weeks ago that the Lotus dealer in Sydney was providing a figure of $160000 (inclusive of all on road costs) for the i4, and 190k for the v6 That’s way above what I was budgeting for - and at that I’m definitely out

    In Australia, prices are whack. An Evora GT 410 (which I believe is the equivalent of the Evora GT in the US) is $190 000 AUD (yes that's right, 190k).... Yet a Porsche Cayman S starts from about 135k. I really hope they do try to compete with the Porsche here and at least equal that price for...

    30k is a heck of a lot I agree, but that is most likely AUD and not USD…. Either way, it does seem really strange to charge such a premium for the v6, given that the i4 is going to be in the future performance version
