My car had same issue......hard tapping noise coming from the front of car transmitting through steering column. Well after 30 days and lotus engineering in tow, they found the problem. The subframe rail bolts that attach to tub were not lubricated. They removed, lubed, and retorqued bolts -...
Funny, this situation came up for me about a month ago. I4 owner with Jb4 and love it - sensible brain said " lets see what a trade would get on an M2" Since I've had all the M cars and presently, my wife drives the X5M and Z4, I know what to expect with another bmw. The BMW dealership...
Really....so the i4 owners buy this variant purely for drag racing?? Lol....no need to respond as there's many videos and threads to clarify in case you're confused.
I4 in for 2 weeks with front creaking sound.....lotus engineering got involved and isolated a brace within the subframe that creaks under certain load. They are ordering part and will install within 2 weeks. 15 hr on the book job but they are certain that's the issue.
Me too....going in Wed for some updates and will test drive with tech on dash creak. Other poster stated removal of dash identified 3 out of 4 dash point mounting rubber boots were absent.....so much for hand made, give me the robots.
Just to add here and I believe this was a knock on the early dct software. If you hold downshift paddle it'll grab the lowest possible gear allowing for a 2 gear downshift. Earlier software, as I've read, wouldn't allow that.
I had no idea about the paddle option until I stumbled across Lotus F1 video online.....it's a pretty cool option but since the most recent dct update, I bang into 1st gear super quick with the lever - feels a bit more positive imo
