£5k Lotus deposit back, £16k Ducati DesertX joined the bike fleet, man-maths in action.

I e-mailed a very polite complaint to Matt Windle direct and got a call from Fraser Gillespie shortly afterwards, deposit money in my bank account that pm.

Harry got to make changes with no delay. Bit of an own goal for Lotus given they would have known all their non-VIP customers would see this and wonder how hard it really is to fit a different set of wheels for example.

The even better news is it arrived in time to part fund my new Ducati DesertX that arrived this morning.

I think that must be my order I cancelled - identical spec and delivery slot incl the silver wheels. As others have said, you can still see the engine with the privacy. B&C suggested it was tinted film you could remove - but I thought it was the glass itself that was tinted, not sure if others...

For those waiting for deposit returns who have closed credit card accounts. I dropped Matt Windle an e-mail this morning expressing my frustration, in the politest terms I could muster. I had a pretty much instant response, followed up with a call - they requested a bank account and driving...

There's a bunch of us that have a specific issue that the cards/accounts we used to pay the deposit no longer exist - in my case because the card issuer ended their arrangement with the card service company. Lotus could simply refund to a different account following whatever ID/compliance...

Can we persuade Nikki to provide some much needed customer care training to Lotus?

Good luck getting your deposit back. It seems likely that a group of us will need to appoint lawyers after New Year, I'm getting knowhere with CC. I'm hoping direct contact with Matt Windle will help.

Be warned - if you do cancel you'll get your deposit back "soon". "Soon" being a gap between two non-simultaneous events that only Stephen Hawking could explain.

Last week (14 Dec) Bonhams auctioned a whole collection of 60's to early 80's Heuer's in really good condition, from a motorsport collector. I'm no expert but looks like they got good prices for these and generally strong bidding for the other lots (the results are on their website). Clearly...

I agree - all my interactions with them have been polite. By the way I'm not suggesting theyre going bust given the Geely ownership - but its a worrying sign when businesses dont refund people promptly.
