It’s not a quick car, but sounds like people who have them now are enjoying the overall experience, which is what counts… I have a new M3 Comp X-drive as my daily, for pure speed it’s off the scale (3 secs 0-60), but it’s a heavy car so a very different experience on b-roads…

It’s really not an £85k car with an old Toyota engine…. I was out anyway, just need to get round to requesting my deposit back, but confirms I made the right call….

I’m out…. Just need to get round to calling them as don’t have confidence they’ll respond to an email…. So many issues from others I’ve lot any confidence I had in the product. I’ve also just had an email stating that my FE build will be Q1 2024 from my deposit in Dec ‘21, which is ridiculous...

Probably a reflection of the number of cancellations they’re processing….

Clearly they underestimated the value of a dealer in managing the customer…. not sure the direct model has worked for them

Surely it has an alarm/immobiliser as standard? Tracker is different, not sure what Thatcham Category the Lotus tracker is? Can’t see it being compulsory for insurance purposes on this sort of value vehicle anyway

Fair point, it would be trading off the aspirational brand & ability to appeal to a wider audience.... exactly what a brand like Tiffany does with the basic silver collection....

Agree with a lot of this..... but not the Ferrari comparison. Agree tech & some internal features (audio for one) of a Ferrari can be questionable.... what is not questionable is the ride & power train.... you drive a Ferrari, it comes alive & puts down power like no other car. I keep hearing...

What's the final OTR price for FE? Doesn't feel like a huge mark-up? Won't be long before you can get a pre-registered car at list, especially if it ticks into New Year & car has been registered in 2022

All fair points…. I’d certainly never compare the Emira with limited production super cars where demand is still really high. My point is, in the medium term, I think you’ll see a lot of cars available in the nearly new market unless it’s clear there’s zero profit, in which case Lotus will see...

There’s a lot of nearly new / delivery mileage dealers which have sprung up in the U.K. in the last few years based on supply shortages & demand for high end vehicles. Lots of these will have deposits in for Emira… why wouldn’t they, it’s a small bet to hedge… I think we’ll see a lot of supply...

Will be interesting to see where this one lands at end of the auction….
