I'm out - the cancellations thread

This is just symptomatic. The lotus we all knew and loved in my case for over 40 years and many cars is gone . You can blame the owners or the management but I cancelled my order some months ago. The car is pretty and the tech updated but Evoras are a better drive, customer services are the...

    UK refunds following cancellation

Cancelled on 3rd March. They repaid £2k of my deposit within 10 days but still have £3k. I have chased by email several times with no response and been hanging on forabout 20 minutes. Obviously their callback facility is overwhelmed or doesnt work.

Prices increase update from Lotus - and stopping of reservations for V6 FE

Actually the lines for the Emira were originally drawn by a more junior member of the design team... I suspect a lot of what is happening is out of Matt Windle's hands. Business management in China is on a different axis to the western europe and whilst we may find the approach strange at times...

Emira Issues - from final production cars

all discs rust if they get wet and are not used. If you are using it , shouldn't be a problem. Just don't leave it outside for months unused. I suspect this was caused by some cars being almost complete months ago, stored outside but waiting for parts.

Car shows "limp mode" or "reduced acceleration" warnings (possible ECU issue)

We name ourselves lol. I’m not grumpy in the slightest just a long term Lotus owner of multiple cars plus other makes who was a pre reveal depositor, who waited for nearly two years for his car with more than many delays and poor comms. I have driven Emira 4 times and know three non Forum...

Car shows "limp mode" or "reduced acceleration" warnings (possible ECU issue)

No, but we are not in the 60’s now and this forum plus those I know who have their cars plus the demos and would love to hear from someone with zero issues!!

    First Emira Breakdown?

To be clear, under your consumer rights, your contract is with Lotus Cars not the dealer. Lotus cars have the liability to correct this. I hope they get you a replacement car as soon as they can schedule one. They should provide a courtesy straight away.

    First Emira Breakdown?

The power train should be reliable but ancillaries and the ECU’s are unproven. Hopefully it’s just a pipe. It is a small volume hand built car with a new production line and a lot of new staff. I have been in three emiras now and all have return to dealer issues but fairly minor ones. Hopefully...

    Further Delays

I’m a pre reveal and had many lotus cars, cancelled last week. Can’t see myself attempting to buy from Lotus again. Sad but head finally overruled heart.

    Emira v 911 (992T)

Noise is relative and 992’s have road noise but to my ears the Emira is definitely louder .

    Emira v 911 (992T)

I’ve just cancelled my Emira and should have my T confirmation in a couple of weeks. The T will be non hybrid, but 992.2 will be hybrid and I don’t want Hybrid and all the extra weight. It’s not clear if all 992.2’s will be but the platform has been engineered to take a battery behind the rear...

Hi, have you had any issues with your car or are you a happy owner? I was ringing to cancel today only to be told my car is in production now - I haven't had any check out emails. I am still being scared off by Toms experience and and the early issues so just wanted to hear from someone who is...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

That's my point it hasn't been test driven for years. The show car at Goodwood was powered by an electric motor and the running grey car was a handbuilt prototype. They didnt start having access to the VP cars until end of 2021 only 6 months before they said they were going to be delivering...
