I am scheduled to take delivery on Wednesday @ Lotus of Houston. I don't recall which member shared but do have a checklist broken down by Interior, Exterior & Test Drive. As I have only owned Porsche's, what high level things should I be looking over before driving away? Uncertain what...
Just heard from Lotus of Houston and my vehicle was on that boat and they expect it next week. I placed original order in March which got caught up in tariff nonsense & cancelled. New order placed in August as 2026-year model. Just maybe in time for Christmas. Fingers crossed build is 100%...
On the daily vehicle (GMC 1500 AT4X) I can knock out in an hour. The garage queen (GT4RS) takes an 1hr 20min typically as I integrate my wheel/caliper cleaning process and are more cautions in general.
Kranzle K1122TST Pressure Washer
Auto Wash Process:
Wheels – Clean single wheel per time.
P&S Detailing Brake Buster
EZ Detail Brush – Wheel wells & barrels. This is stiffer bristle so if wheels are subject to abrasion go with Microfiber
Microfiber Madness Incredibrush – To be used for more...
Heard from dealer today and now understand my order has been built but no confirmation on shipping window. Just maybe we will see her in January, though not holding my breath.
I just caught up with Lotus of Houston and information provided lines up with what I am being told. New MSRP of $106,900 & no change for options. My order will be resubmitted in July and will be 2026 model year. Won't have a feel on delivery until order is resubmitted & accepted.
As far as wheels & calipers I use the P&S Detailing Brake Buster. Drying rotors also beneficial and I have used Hydes Rust stopper on the rotors which loosely helps eliminate some of the brake dust but it's NOT a cure all.
Always best to properly wash unfortunately. If you have PPF in those areas, then I would not be as worried about using a detail spray between washes. The Griots Speed Shine, P&S Detailing Bead Maker or Obsessed Garage Drying Aid are all very good products. Using a Gtechniq ceramic coatings...
I have had some wheels done for wife and in the Houston market they range from $200-$250 a wheel. That was utilizing direct source recommended by Porsche.
I had an in person meeting with Lotus of HOU on Saturday. They are certainly nervous and suggested being open to other builds located here in the states. I left the location thinking nobody really knows how this will play out. My confirmed order remains but basically now in holding pattern...
Just heard from Lotus of Houston. They have notified me based on what they know today a 25% tariff should be expected. Plan on call with them tomorrow to discuss. This is a moving target obviously for dealers & potential clients.
