Can't know for sure without being there but some of these cars saw a bit of sanding from the factory that may not have been polished out before delivery. It should be easily corrected (based on your photos only).

Perhaps you're already aware but maybe it'll help someone else out, if you change tires in the future and they don't have such a thick rim guard on the sidewalls, really think 3 times before placing the rim 'face down' onto the ground.
