Lotus to Start Delivering Emira GT4 in Summer, 10% more power than originally planned.

The Lotus Emira GT4 has been upgraded from its originally announced specifications. Deliveries are expected to begin in the summer.

Jointly developed with RML Group
Lotus (UK) will begin deliveries of the Emira GT4, a racing model of the Emira, in the summer.
The company explains, "Production has begun, and we are now ready to deliver to our first customers with specifications and performance significantly enhanced beyond our original promises.

The Emira GT4 is built entirely by hand by the RML team, a world-renowned motorsports partner, at its newly established dedicated production facility in Wellingborough, England. There is no limit to the number of cars that can be produced.

The first cars to leave the factory will be sent out to owners over the summer, with orders coming in from the UK, Europe, China, Australia, and the United States.

The Emira GT4 is a homologated model required to compete in the global GT4 class. With an extensive option list, the company says it is now ready to compete in non-homologation and race series around the world.

This was an extensive development project in collaboration with the aforementioned RML Group, and the specifications have been further upgraded from those of the VIP event held in Hesel last year.
Latest Specifications of the Emira GT4

Specifically, output has been increased by more than 10% to 461 hp. The transmission has been redesigned with a six-speed paddle-shift sequential racing gearbox and control system.

In addition, the aerodynamics have been optimized for both tight compound corners and high-speed circuits, and the braking system, springs, damping, and cooling pack have been strengthened.

The engine is a Lotus-tuned Toyota 3.5L V6 (2GR-FE/dry sump/Motec engine management) that delivers 461 hp/51.0 kg-m. Transmission is a Hewland 6-speed sequential.

Other features include an FIA-approved 6-point roll cage, FIA-approved HANS-approved seats, electronic extinguisher system, and isolator switch.

Body dimensions are 4410 mm (overall length) x 1290 mm (overall height) with a tread of 1636 mm (overall length) and a vehicle weight of 1360 kg (base model).

The actual Emira GT4 will be on display at the British GT Championship Snetterton round on June 17-18.

The price is 179,000 pounds (3.126 million yen in Japanese currency) plus tax and delivery charges.

So, why doesn’t this “no limit on cars that can be produced” facility produce all Emira V6 Supercharged Cars? Yes, I know about the price.

By the way, GBP 179,000 is JPY 31,276,855

That is about 31.3 million yen (which is about twice the price of a regular First Edition Emira V6 Supercharged). Just in case someone got excited and thought that they can have a GT4 Emira (which cannot even drive on any regular road or street) for 3.1 million yen 👀🤪🙃

Since this can get a license plate number, why not change the muffler to a production Emira and get a license plate number?

These are street legal in over 40 countries including the US. The plan when I retire in a few years is to build one: https://www.ultimasports.co.uk/USA/RS

A basic build using an LS3 V8 with "only" 430 hp is about $75k all in. For $100k you can build a LT4 650-hp/650-lb ft monster that does 0-60 in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 210+ mph. https://www.ultimasports.co.uk/Models/UltimaRS#FAQ
