Hi All - I have no idea how this occurred, but there is a HUGE crack at the upper left hand side of my windshield (there were very strong winds / downed trees across NY this week, but I don’t recall anything ever hitting or being near the vehicle during this time). Either way, what is the best way to go about getting the windshield replaced for the Emira? I assume the dealership is the only option (mine would be New London, CT), but curious if anyone has dealt with this and what the best option(s) to get it fixed would be. I have miraculously never needed a windshield replacement in my ~25 years of owning / driving cars. The help is greatly appreciated!

Note: I searched the forums, but couldn’t find a definitive answer to the above; hence the post. Thank you!

I currently have a cracked windshield on my Emira. The last time my Evora had a cracked windshield, I went through Safelite and they assured me that they could source a windshield and do the repair. Of course, they couldn't. So, this time around, I asked to have my Lotus dealer do the repair. They thought they had a windshield in stock (of course, they didn't), and said it would be 7-10 days to get one from Lotus in the UK. Well, it's been four weeks now, and I'm still waiting for the call. My phone messages have gone unanswered.

I have a rock strike at one end of the windshield, and it's already propagated halfway across the windshield. Now, I'm avoiding driving on the freeway, in case it gets worse.

Yikes! Where are you located / which is your home dealer?
