I am looking to have my Emira ceramic coated and one of the detail shops in town said that there is huge variance in brands of ceramic. They recommended Stout by P&S, but love to hear from you experts. It sounds like it is going to run about $1000 for a 1-step polish and full ceramic, but it ranges from $700-$1500 based on the shop (all are doing 1-step and full ceramic). With that much of a range I figure it has to be related to the materials cost.

Any lessons learned, favorite brands, etc? This is my first time having a car ceramic coated so would welcome anyone's tips. Thanks!

I think there is some difference in chemical makeup but my experience is that the biggest difference is surface prep and “installation”.

Did one car with a friend and the ceramic coat is perfect. Spent 10 hours on it.

Had a shop do another new car with minimal surface prep and the ceramic coat was ok. It looked good but less hydrophobic.

If I paid for it in the future I would pay for some level of real surface prep. It’s more money but I think it makes the most difference. Wiping on and wiping off ceramic coat is the easy part.

I applied Adams graphene ceramic coating . It was a time-consuming but rewarding labor of love. Now my Emira returns my smile.
