Hi everyone,

I’ve recently purchased a Lotus Emira and I’m now in the process of registering it in Portugal. For that, I need the Certificate of Conformity (CoC).
I wanted to ask: did any of you receive the CoC from Lotus when you bought your Emira, either directly or through the dealership?

Any info on how this was handled at the time of purchase would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Not required at the end-user level in Japan. The importer registers the make and model once, and the registration is valid for all cars up to the next model change.
Is the documentation you are looking for something provided by the manufacturer (Lotus) or an independent third party (such as EUROCOC) ?

As a general rule, this type of certificate is typically issued by the manufacturer. It serves as official documentation confirming the vehicle's conformity with EU standards and specifications.

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out to ask if any fellow Emira i4 owners have successfully obtained the Certificate of Conformity (CoC).

I purchased my Emira i4 from a Lotus dealer in Sweden, and when I contacted them about the CoC, they informed me that this request should be handled by Lotus Customer Care directly. However, when I reached out to Customer Care, they redirected me back to a dealer — and since there are no Lotus dealers in Portugal, I'm now stuck in a loop.

This has left my registration process on hold, and frankly, it's surprising how difficult it is to obtain such a basic and essential document from Lotus. I've never had this problem with other brands.

So my question is:
👉 Has anyone who owns an Emira i4 managed to get the CoC?
👉 If yes, how did you request it and through whom?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
