Questions about purchasing a specific 1st edition Emira

I'm considering purchasing a used 2024 Magma 1st Edition Emira (VIN SCCLEKAX5RHB11584) and want to make sure there are no red flags. From what I've been able to find the car was titled May 22, 2004 in New York, sold Oct 10, 2025 with 5,861 miles and was subsequently auctioned with no change in the mileage. I'm unable to find any service records. Is there any Lotus database the records service performed by VIN lookup? All other checks seem to be OK, and I'm checking to see if I can get a pre-purchase inspection performed at Lotus dealer about an hour away from the current dealership. If anyone has any additional due diligence tips, I would very much appreciate them.

You should be able to order a CARFAX report, which should list service history and if it's been in any accidents. Getting a pre-purchase mechanical inspection is always a good idea, since it could find a problem not obvious from the CARFAX. If you can't get one at a Lotus dealership or it's too much of a hassle, find out where there's a skilled journeyman auto mechanic near you and if possible, someone who's dealt with Lotus vehicles before. If you can't find that kind of local mechanic, you could always look at the Forum for advice on what to look for when purchasing a used Emira, make a list, then pass that list along to your local mechanic, as a "head's up" for what to look out for. Along with that, there's a recent YouTube video which provides some pointers (see Forum thread below, but some Forum members don't like the person who posted the video). As well and if the vehicle checks out, consider asking the dealership (I assume it's a dealership you're buying it from) for a minimum 6-month warranty. Good luck!
