North America FE V6 2.0 Buyers Thread

Interested to see who is on the cusp of a 2.0, if they plan to buy, what color they may want, and most important of all when does anyone think dealers will start contacting people? (One thread said about 3 weeks from when they announced the 2.0.

I am currently within 5 of a FE at my dealer. I was going to fully spec my base to FE spec anyway maybe without the KEF and maybe a few other things. Seneca as of now.
Havent heard a peep from dealer yet. Maybe they will contact in a few weeks to let know how many extra FE allocations they got but its just a guess given Lotus history of meeting timelines.

I believe the price is going to be the new $105K but not confirmed until the order goes in. I heard the new FE allocations were substantial so that Lotus doesn't have to retool their manufacturing to accommodate the various options. It makes sense to stick with the more static FE options to get more cars out the door sooner vs. allowing users to customize on the base model. That is the story I was told and to me it seems logical.

You had to place another deposit (amount and refundable or nonrefundable?) to get in the new FE allocations and have not submitted an official order yet?
I believe normally the 2nd deposit (which then both deposits nonrefundable) isn't required until order submission from the dealer to Lotus.

I have yet to hear from my dealer. I really didn't pay too much attention to the numbers I got when I placed my deposit on 8/2021. But I thought I was number 43 at a dealership with 18 allocations. Therefore with several cancellations I hope I am in position for the 2.0.

I didn't know how to title it. But I read in another post that Lotus refers to this new batch of FEs internally as the FE V6 2.0. But even when I read that I immediately thought I4 too. It should be a different name!

So you didnt have a previous deposit (from 2021) and they promised you a spot to get a FE2.0 just putting down money last week?

This is correct. I honestly hadn't really known about the Emira until just a couple months ago so I was way late on all of that. This was my first deposit ever with Lotus and the dealer confirmed me a spot for the FE 2.0 by placing a deposit last Friday. I believe EVERYONE who gets an FE 2.0 will be subject to the price increase. I think only those that were CONFIRMED FE 1.0 allocations will get the original MSRP ~95K USD price but that's just my understanding thus far and not any sort of authoritative statement.

If I'm lucky enough to get into a 2.0 slot, I'll most likely take it. Just need to decide which will be traded in on it. The Turbo S or Hellcat. Fortunately I have nothing but time 🤣
I'll probably stick with Magma, unless I'm absolutely wowed by the other colors introduced.

Exact same situation, color and all. If I get a 2.0 allocation - and deliverable by April 2024 - then I’m still in.

I would question the promise of allocation as surely there are many in the cue that will (or should) be offered the build slot. Do you mind sharing who the dealer is?

How much is the 2nd deposit? I put $2.5k deposit on my Emira build in late 2022. Will mine be affected by price increase?

The consensus here is that if you were not allocated a FE 1.0, then yes your price will increase.

I have a silly question: I assume by being allocated, means the buyer would be notified by Lotus directly, or the selling dealer, that the buyer has been allocated a car? Or is there another way to know if one is allocated a FE 1.0?

Allocation is the committed units Lotus agrees to provide to the dealer. The dealer then buys those cars from Lotus and they are delivered. The customer buys their car from the dealer. It's a true middle-man distribution model.

Is there anyway for the buyer to know if the dealer has allocated units? I haven't heard anything from my dealer where I placed the deposit.
