Hi all,

Finally picked up my Emira yesterday, DVG with Alcantara seats and steering wheel.

Absolutely in love with it, spent 5 hours pointlessly driving around.

Covered in salt by the time I'd finished the really long way round home. Gave it a quick once over before tucking it away in the garage.

Obviously pleased with the car - so pleased you posted twice :D

"5 hours pointlessly driving around." - I know the feeling - but only 5 hours ;)

Welcome to the club! As I always tell all new Lotus owners, make sure you join in with the social scene too - a big bonus of owning a Lotus. In SE there's SELOC (https://forums.seloc.org/events.php) and UK wide the Lotus Drivers club (https://www.lotusdriversclub.org.uk/). Hopefully see you at a meet sometime soon.

Yes, my bad with that, I hadn't realised it was a pending post and thought I'd refreshed the page instead.

I'm just up the road, Weybridge.

Once the salt & wet are gone, we should cross paths at Caffeine & machine, or the Black Swan meet. A bunch of us head to various meets.

CoolFlo at Brooklands is also a great meet.

I’m local too, South Farnham. Also DVG but over tan.

Newlands corner is 3rd Sunday each month too, although I won’t be there this month as mine is going in for doors.

Good to see someone else who isn’t afraid to get it dirty, albeit with this weeks weather and the amount of salt on the road it’s been cleaned and tucked up.

Good to know, would definitely be up for some local meets, driven past caffeine and machine a couple of times, but never stopped.

I've just had the passenger door done, which was the hold up on the collection, I purchased at the beginning of November.

Going through Bell and Colvil?

Really not to far away from me, glad to see that there's a few around the local area!

Mine came from Ashford, they had the perfect spec car but the doors were very slightly affected. The doors were authorised under warranty and a condition of sale before the deal was done so going back to them for the work to be undertaken.

Good to see you're out enjoying it 👍
I found the road a little perilous on cold tyres the other day (slightly sideways trying to pull away from a T junction in a not particularly aggressive fashion... oops!).

Re the coating of salt, I just had mine steam cleaned and the arches and underbody coated with Bilt Hamber Dynax UC so that I wouldn't feel so bad about getting grotty over the winter. Learned a hard lesson about letting suspension get salty a few years back when a front spring perch just rusted all the way through and eventually wen't bang.
