Status:
Emira Owner
My Specs:
Emira V6
Hi, I purchased a 2024 Emira FE with V6 and manual transmission. It had 999 miles on it when it was delivered to me by Park Place out of WA three weeks ago. It's colors are dark verdant with tan interior. I am still learning the car, weekend by weekend. Reading posts from these forums over the last couple months has filled in some of the many gaps of information I have about this vehicle. I have enjoyed learning about the car and this community.

Welcome to the gang! Make sure you find your local Lotus owners groups - the Lotus community is a great benefit to owning the car & makes it much more fun.

Any pictures of the new car?

I don’t think there is a bad color combo on the Emira, but verdant and tan is a good one!

Welcome!

I’m also in SD. Another forum member and I will be hitting up the RSF cars and coffee in our emiras next Saturday (if the dealer fixes my car in time…) If you’re available it’d be great if you joined!

Welcome to the forum @thisguyinsd and hi to @cellculturist and your Purple Haze! I'm in OC but have found that the San Diego Lotus Club has the best events. I've done several driving events with them so far and they're a good group of folks. Join through Lotus of So Cal, or even Golden Gate Lotus Club and select SD as your local chapter to get on their email list for upcoming events.

For the RSF event, I might be interested in attending, especially if I can see @cellculturist 's Purple Haze in the flesh. But one thing, I've just read that that event is "along the street". Is that true? No parking lot? How does that even work?

Nice to meet you! We’ll have to meet up!

That’s awesome to hear. I haven’t attended any yet.

Rancho Santa Fe basically turns into a big car meet! People park along the streets (next to the sidewalks) as normal, and cars can still drive on the streets as normal. Everyone just walks on the sidewalks (mostly) to admire the cars. A few businesses that have parking lots allow the lots to fill up with cars too. It’s a relaxed yet exciting environment, and I’ve always been so impressed with the amount of insane cars there. Wild that it happens every single Saturday. I’m guessing it’s best to get there at 7:30 or earlier to get a good spot if you are going to display a car.

I’ll be honest I doubt my Emira will be fixed in time, so I may have to postpone. I could bring my Alien-themed Ford Probe lemons racecar and my 1991 F250 “UFO recovery vehicle” (tow vehicle) as a backup to the Emira, but that’s a bit of a different vibe. Some folks love seeing it, but other folks don’t appreciate their property values going down when I’m nearby.

🤔 Me thinks that possibly I had brunch with the other member you know on the day I decided to "go for it" with my Emira, not long ago! (Unless there are multiple Emira owners that talked of going to the RSF C&C soon...)

I did go once before in another Lotus I own.

Thanks for the pics, reminds me of downtown Carmel-by-the Sea during car week. But whew! does look like you need to get there early to get a good parking spot. I’d be in the camp of loving to see your “aliens” LOL! Sorry to hear your Emira is down, what’s going on there?

Keep getting a CEL, and for some reason three of my brake calipers are starting to leak. Dealer is being cautious before throwing the parts cannon at it. The brake lines must have been tightened on a Friday afternoon at the factory

Sorry. That stinks.

Also in San Diego, I have had my Emira, V6 automatic, for about a year and a half. Purchased it from the Las Vegas Auto Gallery. It has been an absolutely awesome car, I have about 6000 miles on it now and no major problems. It's always nice to hear about another Emira in San Diego, I wonder how many are in our neck of the woods? Living in Southern California, where there's a lot of "supercar's" the Ferraris, McLarens, GT3's, a few Lamborghinis, the Emira gets the "supercar" look (and feel), without breaking the bank. And I bet if we compared spec for spec, other than maybe raw horsepower, the Emira really holds its own! I have not had a lot of time, but would like to learn more about the Lotus or Emira groups in San Diego, and maybe go to one of the meet ups. Enjoy your new Emira you will love it!

Sounds like the RSF meet this Sat June 13 is the place to go to find out more about fellow Emira owners in SD county
I have only seen one other Emira around, a red one, near Palomar mountain. I was in my 718 Cayman (my other ride) at the time, so I wasn't able to show off my Emira. :(

That yellow Esprit... Chef's kiss!!!

I see the occasional other Emira going through RSF aside from my buddy and I (both have Emira).
We need to organize canyon and beach drives, etc. :)

Been a member of GGLC and PCASDR too but backcountry driving are few and far between (not to mention the latter doesn't allow non P-cars :cautious:).

Also in North County... and patiently waiting for mine to arrive in the next month or two. Was at RSF last Saturday with my son and saw 2 Emira's (one Nimbus and one Red with a lot of carbon fiber parts). Looking forward to getting out there and joining up with you all for some drives.
