Emira i4 with 509hp/633Nm

Hi,

I will receive this week my i4 emira and since the beginning, as it was the m139 engine, i have in mind to tune it like the a45s where it come from.
Maybe it is easier to work on the chinese version which come with 400hp stock ?

I saw that IG post :

It's encouraging to see that companies are prepared to put in the work on a relatively small potential market. Working from their numbers, I'm assuming they started with a 400bhp engine. It would be interesting to know if the 360bhp variant would also make the same numbers with the appopriate piggyback.

I see it includes a OPF Delete which would be good for sound but bad for compliance here in the UK as it could lead to an MOT fail on visual or emissions checks.

I think the 360 and 400hp engine are the same, it is just detuned for UE tax and V6 marketing.
And yes about the opf delete, I think the same, would be great to have a good compromised to keep the car legal.

How long until a plug in chip is available, so we don't need to take the car into a tuner. Not much choice here in Western Australia!!

Unfortunately that is not the case. I know the owner, and obviously he was scammed by the shop using calibrated data. Simple truth is that a Racechip will not get you anywhere near 500 hp, it is just common sense. My tuner did a few pulls with the Racechip on a Mainline dyno, the best you get is around 25 hp, which is around 30-40 hp for other dyno machines since Mainline is known to be conservative.

If you want a faster 0-60, replace your seats with CF ones and a set of light weight rims, you should be able to get down to 3.5 as my tuner did.

That's annoying... i suppose we all just need to wait for the ECU to be cracked.

It wasn’t supposed to be 500hp, with just the race chip, that was alongside some exhaust and inlet changes too.

Not saying their numbers are real or accurate, but those changes should provide some descent gains even if the gains are a bit less than claimed. My I4 is definitely faster after I’ve added the exhaust and sports cat.

Mid 400s to 500hp in a DCT I4 Emira is gonna be pretty quick, especially if you can also drop a little weight too.

Agreed. That spec was more towards a stage 2 in old money. That's quite a significant set of mods over stock. A piggyback is never going to be as effective as a proper remap but there's always a significant overhead built into turbo cars to ensure they make the advertised power in all possible conditions (heat, humidity, altitude, fuel quality etc). That's why simple ECU maps can easily yield 10-20% gains. I suspect the biggest challenge with the i4 engine will be heat soak as there's a limit to how much air you can get through those side vents.

By comparison, EST have stage 1 and stage 2 packages for the A45s which make the numbers quoted above look conservative!

@Andy H did you see post below?

A new intercooler will reduce the heat and with a JUBU rear window swap the power could go as high as the A45S.

I got a very good deal on some used parts, including an Aerie Ti exhaust, sports cat and dump valve. It’s a V1 exhaust apparently. Everything seems ok now, after some minor teething issues.

Believe me, I wish that numbers are to be true as well, which make modification for the Emira so much easier. Even my tuner, the owner of Boomgear (the guy who constantly running 3.5x seconds for 0-100) with so much more mod that the car on this thread like upgraded intercooler, water reservoirs and a bunch of other goodies, its not even close to 500. Without remapping the ecu, its even hard just to get to 450. Just go pull a few dyno and you will see.

how much power does Ryan make on his car? I saw his video, he’s running 2.4bar boost (versus standard 2bar), so what has he changed to do that?
