Thanks for the idea. Car has been on and off. Started and stopped etc. all over a number of days. No joy. I’ll get Lotus support but busy with other stuff so she can sit nearly empty in the garage for a bit.

Removed panel - no emergency release. Checked manual and only refers to the one for the boot. Will take the 911 and call Lotus when I get some time 😢

Been a while but finally run in ! Engine and gearbox loosening up nicely. Stereo sounds nicer too. No problems other than the wipers (to be fixed). Still don’t like the steering wheel !

I don’t agree with you in this instance. If that were the case every Emira they had done would have had the extra detailing to make more money. That isn’t the case plus this extra preparation takes a lot of time and I think they would make more money doing more high margin PPF jobs than spending...

Interestingly my detailed didn’t report the “tacky/almost wet” issue. They were much more concerned with swirls and holograms introduced by sun standard paint finishing in the factory.

Finally got my car back from getting full PPF. GVE in Uxbridge had it for over a month. I was not impressed by the time taken plus they reported work needed on bird lime and a scratch which were not on the car when I dropped it off. Not helped by the car being there for weeks. They end result...

I have heard the same thing - the fix is new wiper motors. Apparently they are waiting for sufficient supply to initiate the recall. But I don’t know how they know which cars are affected ?

Still havent had it on the car - car was dirty then off for detailing and PPF (that has taken ages - a story for the PPF thread !) and I pick it up Thurs. Will pop cover on when I get it home and let you know 👍🏻

I hear what you say but it is a lot more noticeable/pronounced in the Emira than other modern manual cars that we own or have driven. For example there is slight rev hang in a GR Yaris but it dormant detract from the overall experience. For me, it does “intrude” in the Emira.

I would like to hope so but then why not recall all cars for a fix ? Are there other owners on here who have fully functioning wipers ? I don’t think I have picked that up.

Tried this and it doesn’t work for my car.

I went through the heaviest rain I have ever driven in yesterday in Norfolk. Thankfully not in the Emira. All traffic slowed to around 15 mph even on high speed wipers. Would not have been remotely funny in the Lotus. Why is there no communication at all on this safety critical issue ???
