    Production Updates & U.S. Delivery Timing (V6FE)

Those schedules are little earlier than my dealer told me over the phone recently (though likely buffering on his side). He was suggesting that April orders meant November production start with @ 45 days delivery from there. So I was still expecting a car stateside very late 2022/very early...

    Yellow Emira at Eletre launch

Feeling much stronger about my decision against the black pack. Admittedly, early on it was an existential crisis. I will change up the lettering on the back to black. But I like the more connected cabin look sans upper black pack. No offense to those going with the black pack. I does create a...

Test Drive unlikely before Commitment for Early depositors

Test drives a Lotus. "That was awful." Said no one. Ever. It's just not gonna matter. The car is gonna be great, drive well and be an amazing experience. And if you truly don't like it (which would be pretty weird), you'll likely be able to flip quickly for next to no loss. It's a low risk...

    Dealer Markups (Stateside)?

For those of in the US, we clearly have to contend with actual dealerships who are notorious for all sorts of shenanigans. Wondering folks thoughts about artificially high dealer markups. A member had posted in another thread that Victory Lotus (NJ) added a $20k dealer mark up to which they...

Pulled out, after getting conflicting delevery dates from Lotus CC

That's a hell of a lot of machine for $45k (I know it's pounds but I don't have that currency symbol). Congrats.

    3rd Phone Call?

Sorry @Mike-engel I doubled checked my emails to make sure my dates are straight and I was actually wrong.. I emailed back a signed "purchase agreement" (such as it was) from the first deposit on July 16th, 2021 (not mid-August as I wrote previously, apologies) to Summit NJ Lotus. And at that...

    Privacy glass

For what it's worth, if you play with the configurator in the "Sunlight" setting and move the car to reveal the three quarter rear-ish, overhead view, you can toggle the privacy glass off/on and actually see the difference. See image below:

Getting lower black pack - yet getting LOTUS and exhausts sprayed gloss/black???

Exhaust no, but I would definitely prefer the LOTUS in black even though I'm not getting upper black pack. I'm planning on PPF'ing so assuming the silver LOTUS badging needs to be removed anyway. I'm actually wondering if Lotus will make black LOTUS badging available. Something they sell/provide...

    More details for KEF Audio

Your post might as well have literally been in chinese.. haha.. there are car audio guys and then there are CAR AUDIO GUYS. But seriously, glad your expectation is that the system will be pretty good. You clearly have a great working knowledge of car audio systems. Actually, slight edit @Pav...

Hethel Yellow Lotus Emira Photo Thread

I'm actually a little surprised by these measurements.. lower, wider and longer wheelbase. That bodes well.

    Value of FE

Early. Exotic. And likely limited for quite some time. The Emira will still be a low production car (relative to most domestic models). So having the FE will not only mean one of very few Emiras early on, but that exclusivity is likely to last several years IMO. When I drive longer distances...

Anyone thinking of Matting their Emira ?

That's a very good point. The yellow matte I have seen is usually like a hurcan or other lambo. Very jagged and sharp indeed.

Anyone thinking of Matting their Emira ?

So funny you posted that.. as the color and trimming requests were raging, I was holding off asking @Eagle7 for matte finishes because I didn't want to overwhelm.. but... eh... ehem.. some matte versions of FE colors would be pretty sweet ;-) Hint hint..

Anyone thinking of Matting their Emira ?

I was/am considering as part of my PPF on the Hethel yellow. It's a flat (non metallic) color anyway and I've seen some super cars in flat yellow that look pretty sweet. I can't visualize what it would look like with matte VG. I'm thinking it would actually "lighten" the look as it'll have a...

Let's talk about the Emira's seats...

I'll just go ahead and say it.. if it's great seats that we all want, they should have gone back to the Volvo parts bin and grabbed their seats. Best in the business. I had a V60 Polestar.. seats felt like they were custom molded to my body. Adjustable, supportive, supple yet held in aggressive...

    Mr Grumpy Pants

@Leonard - some serious props to you.. I've been reading through all the recent video review comments and I'm just floored by all the entitled, whiny, naysaying bullshit. There are a select few on this forum who are nothing more than holier-than-thou, commenting-from-their-moms-basement...

Just back from Type132 preview event

Those little "wing-y" spoiler things at the top/back of the vehicle are a nice flourish. The front is nice and aggressive.. but agree that the body line is a little safe and staid. I'm nowhere near in the market for an electric vehicle but once I am ready, I'm sure Lotus (or any vehicle made on...

Lotus is dead ????? interesting video

I think that's a very real and very accurate assessment of the state of affairs. And per others, I think it is worth pointing out that the highlighted video IS great for providing a really good history and evolution of Lotus org. I actually found that fascinating and didn't know quite a few...

Lotus is dead ????? interesting video

I look at it this way.. Elon used a Lotus to benchmark Tesla initial performance and there's no doubt EV have fantastic handling due to low slung weight and center of gravity. Now Lotus is going into EV to do what Lotus does best and I expect their EV's to be even more outrageous. It's full...

    3rd Phone Call?

Depends on where you are.. UK cars are being delivered before US cars regardless of date money was down. Looks like you are stateside... I placed my deposit around mid-August and I'm #32 at my dealer. I'm expecting tail end of 2022 but likely very early 2023. Dealer says I'm a lock for FE and...

Is your colour choice based on something?

As a teenager I was an avid cyclist and used to ride long loops on valley roads in Central PA. On a ride one particularly beautiful sunny day, in the distance I saw an impossibly low, fast moving yellow dot approaching. It was a yellow esprit (similar to below) that someone owned locally. It...

Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Wrap for your Emira

    1. Super happy no one hurt 2. But yes this is the best look I’ve ever seen of the underside. Absolutely fantastic. Not much I would do here (assuming those panels are all aluminum) Besides maybe grease the bolts to protect from rusting.
  33. mr_joshua

Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Wrap for your Emira

Well most underside wouldn't be film but rather rubberized "paint" like sprays. I'm thinking skid/protective plates like on trucks (which are often visible). I've also seen some high quality restorations where they clearly paint the frame and under side panels with bed-liner like material (which...

Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Wrap for your Emira

Agree with all here.. I have never PPF'd a car but plan on this being my first. I'll likely ceramic treat the PPF as well - a few Youtube videos really call out the benefit of this (though it seems strange to me initially). Effectively you get super hydrophobic surface with ceramic coated PPF...

    Steering Wheel Stripe Question

This has been a contention on this forum for a while now.. but in short, the stripe is ONLY available on the automatic. If you select manual, you're stuck with either leather or alcantara steering wheels - both all black. A bummer for sure.

Will you use a front plate or hope you don't get pulled over??

I'm in NY as well.. on my Tacoma (similar to another poster) I don't care and put the plate on the front. On my E450 Coupe.. that's a big nope. We've had the car for well over six months but only do local weekend driving (half of which is in NJ). My understanding is that you likely won't be...

Alternate configurator renders of the other 4 FE colors

It's really just enough to kinda evoke this old school feel but with a much lighter and more modern feel. @donskibeat that magma with yellow - brakes, pin stripe and logo is really really sharp.
