I get this from both driver and passenger sides at all running temps. Noticeable when stopped, not really when driving. Occurs constantly every few seconds. If someone has tracked down a fix/cause, would love to hear it!

Thank you guys for the help on this. PSA for anyone who accidentally removes those bolts as I did when doing an oil change or anything else...you will prob have to remove the entire diffuser to reattach the support brace. Found this out the hard way. If you don't think it's threaded in, it isn't!

So I unbolted - but did not fully remove - the rear diffuser yesterday as part of my oil change. When reinstalling, the two middle bolts in the second-from-back row did not actually thread into anything behind the diffuser…they fully threaded through the diffuser but never reached a bracket or...

It appears the reason - at least in RBF600’s case - is the viscosity at very low temps is slightly too high to meet DOT 5.1 requirements. Obviously the stuff we care about ie boiling points well exceeds.

I agree with you on changing the fluid on our cars before a serious track day, based on the table above (and always using fresh bottles). I’ve genuinely not heard of anyone prioritising DOT 5.1 fluid so I did a quick search - and it turns out that despite RBF600 being rated a DOT 4, its boiling...

To each his own of course. In my view, the extra margin isn’t only entirely unnecessary, it’s not costless - the 5.1 is more hygroscopic, which can work exactly against the temp-induced fade we’re all looking to prevent.

Always a fan of track pads, but DOT 5.1 is massively overkill IMO. If you are boiling DOT4, you have more to worry about than just the fluid!

Had it down at Car Week for the weekend! Saw my first fellow Emira on the road, a Magma Red outside of Pacific Grove, and a Seneca parked at Laguna during the historics on Saturday. And finally finished running it in on the way home - but will wait to have proper fun with it until post-oil change.
