Please help with 4cyl wheel info

My I4 is running 9*20 ET51 and 11*20 ET57. This pushes the outside of the wheel out by 12mm on the front and 13mm further out on the rear. Front wheels are same on both I4 and V6, rear I4 are 10.5 wide ET64, rear V6 are ET54

    Custom wheel pictures

What wheel specs, including ET and what tyre specs please? :) It looks great but is on the verge of being a bit too much, but in a good way of course(y) You’ve lowered it I assume? Coilovers?

Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

In really hot climates, there is going to be some big benefits to be gained with improved charge cooling and maybe water/meth injection I would expect. There’s no getting around it, all cars make less power in high temperatures and I think forced induction is even more affected than NA. I have...

    New Jayemm Emira video

I subscribe to Jayemm and I like his videos, but he does seem to get a bit triggered by Lotus. I don’t get it, he goes on about how great Lotus cars are, but all he does is trash them. All this seems to be mostly because a guy that used to work in Lotus PR sent him a shitty email 6 years ago…

VF Tuner for the Lotus Emira

I didn’t realise I was reacting. I’m not bothered by anything that anyone said, I’m also not bothered by where anything was said either. I do however understand that if I was a Vendor and another Vendor made remotely negative comments in my thread, that I might not be too happy about it...

VF Tuner for the Lotus Emira

To be honest, nobody is saying there was anything wrong with what you said. The only issue was where it was posted. Regardless of whether a remapped ECU is better or worse than a piggyback, but the fact still remains that a remapped ECU will almost certainly void warranty claims, whereas a...

Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

@675430VME Snowtech are only offering the charge cooler and matching radiators, or they have more parts available for the I4 Emira?

Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

Snowtech seems pretty popular in China and I’ve heard they work well. I don’t think Snowtech do any parts for the V6 Emira, only for the I4. I might be wrong, but the Snowtech parts are intended for the AMG A45S but they also happen to fit the I4 Emira. Not too o many V6 Emira in China, the...

Anyone with Valve motor faults after installing Milltek valve controller?

What sort of heat wrap would be suitable/recommended to protect the exhaust valve unit and milltek valve controller unit? Haven’t installed the milltek yet, but do have a Ti exhaust on an I4 and have heard of valve motors melting/failing on track.

I’m in China, I4 is 400hp here. I use a UK VPN so it might show up as a UK flag when the VPN is on.

Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

For info we both have 400hp I4, not V6. I’m just going along with what he said, it’s fair enough, can’t deny more boost will put more strain on the car. There are upgraded cooling options for the I4 (basically A45S parts AFAIK), but not personally done anything too extensive yet, maybe next...

Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

For sure it’s Safer to run stock on the track. It’s gonna be hot as hell this time of year too. I wouldn’t expect the additional power would cause injector issues would it? I’d be more concerned about overheating etc when running higher power levels on track.

Yes, I remember seeing this clip before. It’s circa 2 bar or 29lb standard, right? @675430VME Had a chance to install your JB4 yet?

Help with offset and colour choice on Aerie V2 Wheels

That was written before I knew they are ET64. Yes, that’s correct on both fronts, I do have an I4 Emira. Any wheel specs you go with need to be based on the fact the standard I4 rear wheels are ET64 (not ET54 as per the V6). Hope this didn’t catch you out like it did myself and a few others.

I4 tuning box development - who wants one?

My 400hp I4 felt quicker after I did a Ti exhaust and sports car, but it’s like the gearbox now let’s the car hit the rev limiter in Auto when you have more power. I imagine this phenomenon is only worse with the tune.

    Coilover options for i4

Thanks for the reply, I figured the hardware was basically the same but thanks for confirming it(y):) Ok, understood, but the difference between the models is hardly a big difference IMO. The models basically weigh the same and have the same weight distribution (near as damnit) so why would...

What 18” track tyres would you run on an Emira

I’m looking at getting a set of 18” rims for my Emira (will be fixing the park brake problem), probably go 9” wide (or more) on the front and 11” wide on the rear. Just looking for suggestions on what tyre sizes and model? Track tyres, not gonna use them on the road.

    Coilover options for i4

Any idea what the difference is between I4 and V6 springs/shocks design? The front hardware is the same AFAIK, it’s only the rear that may have some small differences.

Emira Turbo (i4) Upgraded Exhaust Sound Clip

I’m told that if you disconnect or remove the circled part you can swap the cat without disassembling the turbo. However, when we did mine we didn’t do this and we did partly disassemble the turbo in order to swap out the cat. There is a panel into the trunk, that needs to be removed to do the...

I4 HP and torque, 472 torque reading?

My 400hp I4 shows 480Nm and I think it was 416hp peak displayed. Not sure why there are (max displayed hp displayed) variations between cars with same setup. I think the Nm values tend to match the specs.

Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

I don’t see how they can increase the boost pressure on the supercharged V6 by signal manipulation. There is a dump valve that releases pressure on gear changes, but there is no wastegate on a SC engine that I’m aware of. Happy to be proven wrong on this point, not claiming to be an expert.

Renntech offers a tuning box of some sort, rather than an ECU remap? Their AMG A45s option is pretty expensive.

Exhaust System Upgrade Options Available for Turbo I4 AMG Engine Yet?

I think a lot of people also use the Milltek valve controller when they do an exhaust. Apparently the V2 Aerie is better regards not throwing exhaust valve codes, however the system is super sensitive so don’t be surprised if it does. Just get the valve recalibrated if it does happen, or run...

Exhaust System Upgrade Options Available for Turbo I4 AMG Engine Yet?

It’s just a page in the Lotus diagnostic software. They go to the page in the Lotus software, select the exhaust valve calibration and press go. The valve goes to full open, full closed and the car learns the new open/closed positions of the valve. That’s it, very simple with the correct...

Take some pics of the exhaust valve shaft and mounting plates before you install it. Also the little spring to join the motor to shaft.

Exhaust System Upgrade Options Available for Turbo I4 AMG Engine Yet?

You’ll probably need to get the exhaust valve re calibrated at Lotus if you change the exhaust. The valve is super sensitive to the slightest difference in the open and closed position. I had CEL after changing my I4 Exhaust, after recal, no problem.

I4 tuning box development - who wants one?

So what sort of tricks would this TDI be pulling to increase the boost pressure, maintain safe AFR, whilst keeping the ECU happy that it’s functioning normally? Not too familiar with how this sort of device.

US I4 (400hp) has fake engine noise pumped through speakers

This explains what I’ve noticed (I4 owner). Firstly the audio is descent when the engine isn’t running (windows up or down). Sound deteriorates significantly when you are driving but is sort of acceptable, but as soon you open a window whilst driving, the low frequency is really bad and...

    Emira Turbo exhausts

That’s what I meant say :) I didn’t do the job myself, was just keeping an eye whilst others did the job. Apparently it is easy if you remove that part I circled above. Only got this info after it was all done, so not too sure about the details.

    Emira Turbo exhausts

You don’t need to remove the turbo. We removed part of the turbo to get the cat out, but I’m told you can do it without even doing that. The circled part can be removed, then the cat can be removed through the access panel in the trunk, without removing any of the turbo. This is what I was...
