I was going to buy a Kenwood dash cam, but they are insistent that it cannot take a USB-C to USB-C power supply, so off to find something else. Seems daft that the supply has to be Cigarette socket/USB-A supply to USB-C

Does anyone know if the USB socket on the mirror housing, is permanently live? And does anyone know what the power output is? Seems that most Dashcams need 2A and most in car USB-C ports are only 1A Thinking of getting a Dashcam with Parking mode and it needs power when ignition is off.

If you do contact the seller, I'll go in and have one and halve the delivery costs. I will continue to try and find out which manufacturer they are sourced from
