Do you notice a ticking noise during acceleration?

Dealership said this sound is an intentional feature to remind you that owning a Lotus is a lot like owning a ticking time bomb. I think that checks out. 👍😆

New colours available in Canada for the 2025 V6, available for a limited time, must be ordered by the end of February.

Do they all come with flat tires too? The graphics department at Lotus could use a little help.

    The inevitable faster Emira

I think you're right about a more powerful version coming. But for me, no matter what the power increase is, there is one thing that would prevent me from being an interested buyer: the absence of a 6 speed manual. And lets face it, whatever configuration they come up with will probably not be...

    Limited Telematics

Ironically, this same message appeared on my Mazda Cx-90 (but not my Emira). The solution? Disconnect the battery for an hour and see if it fixes the error. It did. These new cars are too complicated. :ROFLMAO:

How good will the Emira's gain in value be?

No one can say for sure, but I imagine a person that is considering a First Edition Emira in 2045 will be interested in the nostalgia and analog driving experience - the manual transmission is a big part of this. I could see someone in the future learning to drive a manual just for the cool...

Time for new tyres/tires - What are the new options?

As others have said, I wouldn’t suggest summer tires unless you’re a little closer to the equator. Breaking the tires lose is fun when predictable, but not fun when unpredictable due to cold weather unless you’re ready for another car (courtesy of your insurance company). I think you’d just...

Stripped and resprayed vs replacing will almost guarantee future bubbles (according to others on here). I wouldn’t accept this solution.

I don’t think it would be a new part. Just a better sealant/curing process.

Love these forums largely because of people like you who post an opinion based on some background/expertise to identify the issue. So based on what you’re saying - a door skin that is cured properly and pure of imperfections (layman’s terms) shouldn’t blister because the underlying application...

Who’s to say that the door manufacturer isn’t under intense scrutiny from Lotus? They might have agreed to replace any defective products, but only if Lotus doesn’t make a public statement about the issue. It’s likely in both parties best interest to fix the problem as they pop up vs creating...

    Inventory Growing!

More cars are listed because a large shipment just arrived a week or so ago. A listed car is not an available car, and I would bet most of what you’re seeing as “new” have already been claimed.

If you sold your EMIRA what’s next?

Sounds like you’re ready to move on. Anecdotally I can share that my M2 was one of my least favorite cars I’ve owned. The 2 series platform is just cheap, and mine rattled like a tin can to the point where I had to sell it in less than a year. Fast though! Good luck with whatever you decide next.

    Cold start stalling

No issues for mine anymore. Now sits on a battery tender when not in use, and a long hold of the start button to "boot up" the car before the clutch is depressed. Not sure if one/both of these things actually matter, but I'm not going to stop doing it because it seems to be an easy solution...

I thought about that too. But if the new doors are the same as the old ones (we have recent build dates with bubbling), replacing the doors within warranty means the new ones will also bubble post-warranty. Seems like there’s really no escaping it unless you try and mitigate it yourself.

Alright, hear me out. I just washed the car yesterday on a cold day. Parked down hill to let the doors “drain.” Went to drive today, rolled down the windows, and they came back up streaked and totally wet. Not entirely unusual for colder temps, but I’m wondering if some additional ventilation...

Low speed, full lock, tire slipping?

I tried searching, and sorry for not having a more technical explanation, but it feels like I get front tire slipping (maybe rubbing) on low speed maneuvering (1-3 MPH), on near/total wheel lock, and while on a steeper incline. My car clunks on full lock too, but this is different. Has anyone...

I don’t think the trunk lid is the same supplier as the doors, and therefore would not be related to this (but clearly a paint defect).

    Portland OR Oil Change?

Hello, I'm nearing the 1k mile mark and would like to get my oil changed. Park Place said any "qualified, high performance shop" would be sufficient in maintaining my warranty. Now that Freeman Motors is no longer a local PDX Lotus dealership, who is everyone using?

Unfortunately, there is no generally accepted view, or even confirmation that a design change was made to new panels. There is, however, lots of speculation/unofficial commentary. If Lotus were to admit a problem, then a recall would be likely on thousands of cars, which, they're not real...

Flat battery in less than 2 weeks

That's funny, because I thought the opposite might be true. I leave mine unlocked in the garage under the assumption the alarm was causing some battery drain. I do keep the key pretty far away so it doesn't wake up the car though. Meanwhile, my 10 year old Mazda will sit outside in all kinds...

Paint blistering on the Rear Quarter Panel...!!! Am I the first??

The URL posted above is the UK version (en-GB in the URL is English-Great Britain). They get 5 years of paint coverage. The US warranty book - can be downloaded HERE and clearly states 3 years/ 36k miles for paint defects. Sucks, but hopefully that puts this debate to rest.
