    Dead Battery

I’ll probably look at one of them as well, when my car’s back. How long have you left it without charging and it’s worked fine?

    Dead Battery

I don’t want to hijack this thread, but what about changing it for a Li-Ion battery? I know it’s more money, but I fitted one to a Ducati and the charge lasted way longer than a lead acid. I could ‘overwinter’ my Ducati without having it on a trickle charger and it would fire up straightaway...

Alarm going off for no reason

I’m going to use this one. It’s just a matter of connecting across the battery and drilling a hole in the battery cover. Someone’s already done it on here. The installed picture is theirs.

    My Emira is ill 😔

I believe that waterproof ‘shroud’ is part of the HeVAC warranty fix. If you haven’t got that. I don’t think the repair has been carried out properly.

After the hassle I gave Auto100 over mine, they may not want to get involved with more Emira’s lol! Alternatively, the sh1t I gave Lotus CC about Auto100 (and apparently I wasn’t the first), may mean that Lotus pulled the deal!

Alarm going off for no reason

When my car eventually comes back from the dealer, I should be able to tell you the accuracy of the Tracker voltage as I will be fitting a voltage display across the battery terminals. I believe this will be the most accurate measurement, so I can see how much if differs from the tracker reading.

FS/FT: Red OEM Lotus Emira Brake Calipers – Looking for Yellow

The factory finish of the AP’s on my Evora 400 (2015) looked a bit rough by 2024. I resprayed them and I’ve done it with previous cars. If you choose the right paint, they last better than the factory finish. I will say that the factory finish on the Lotus AP’s are better than the factory finish...

    My Emira is ill 😔

Do you know if the waterproof seal has been installed on the front loom/fuse box? It sounds similar(though not exactly the same) to one of the issues I’ve had, water running off the windscreen and down onto the “frunk” electrics.

No. Their response was that as the delays are labour related, they can’t get involved as that is Colchester’s issue. They did say that they would speed up any requests for warranty approval and dispatch of parts. However, all the warranty claims are already approved. Maybe they can’t get some of...

    Vehicle delivered missing paint.

That looks to me like it’s been painted, but the paints come off, due to a contaminant on the surface prior to painting. I’d check how adhered the paint around that area is.

I spoke to the Lotus escalation team this afternoon. Apparently they can’t do anything as Auto100 are not an official Lotus dealer and classed as a third party (so how are they getting all the Lotus cars then?). The guy in the escalation team stated that they have had “numerous” complaints...

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

I think I have the same problem, but I won’t be able to tell until I get the car back, although I’ve asked the garage to do a full battery check, to see if it’s holding its charge properly. I have the Scorpion tracker as well and asked about battery drain to them, of which they said, it should...

I’ve escalated it to Lotus Escalation Team (yes, apparently they have an escalation team!). I’m waiting on them ringing me back. There’s Lotus Hatfield, but I didn’t get a good feeling about them when I went in. They seemed a bit up their own arse and the prices for servicing and spares were...

I don’t disagree. I spoke to Lotus CC and they just stated that they couldn’t force or push any dealer to prioritise anything. I won’t be using Lotus Colchester again, when I eventually get my car back. I wanted to use Hilton and Moss, but they can no longer carry out Lotus warranty work.

Auto100 - UK Trader in Sutton in Ashfield

Two reasons, the Firstly, they have done nothing so far (over 4 weeks), because they were “too busy”. The 60 hours is the workshop time required to fit a new front fuse box and loom and to remove the engine from the car, then drop the gearbox off the engine and determine what’s failed. The...

2nd check engine light in less than 500 miles

I think there’s two issues here. I don’t know if the ‘HeVAC shroud’ also covers the front fuse box or if that’s another, separate shroud, but there are definatly two separate issues created by water ingress from the front windscreen. My car had no issues at all with the HeVAC system, but error...

Another update on my car. It’s been in the workshop for 4 and a half weeks so far. I received an update from them this morning stating that there is still a minimum of 60 hours workshop time left on my vehicle and this doesn’t include the work to replace the doors! Losing the will to live and...

The state of new cars, a non Emira rant!

For me, I think the ‘Emira hits the good balance. I personally like the screens and the connectivity (I use mine quite a bit (when it’s not in the garage), not as an daily, but much more than a weekend car) and the driver aids are relatively small and not obtrusive.

The state of new cars, a non Emira rant!

My courtesy car resets itself and there are some things that cannot be turned off. The electric assist/lane control steering is always the same I.e. on and makes the steering vague and light so that you can’t tell how much traction you’ve got. I’ve managed to turn off some of the ‘bongs’ but not...

What did you do to your Emira today?

I didn’t do anything with mine as it’s still in the garage for the warranty work. I was pining for it, so I ended up going to Hilton and Moss in Bishops Stortford to scratch the Lotus itch. Their Emira GT4 is something to behold. They also seem to be trying to corner the market on Elise, not to...

The state of new cars, a non Emira rant!

I guess the unasked question is that in a couple of year or more, will cars like the Emira be much sought after as the market will hate what it’s got and the used prices will go up?

The state of new cars, a non Emira rant!

I posted this on a thread recently, but thought it might be worth having a discussion on ‘the state on new cars”…….. It’s the same for almost every new car now. Hugely heavy, bloated SUV, with more power/torque from the electric motors than its design can really cope with because of its huge...

It’s the same for almost every new car now. Hugely heavy, bloated SUV, with more power/torque from the electric motors than its design can really cope with because of its huge bulk and size. The weight and all the drivers ‘aids’ removes as much involvement and engagement as possible. Steering...

2nd check engine light in less than 500 miles

Could be water in the front fuse box/loom. Apparently there’s a seal that wasn’t/needs to be installed. Apparently water off the windscreen runs down, through the vents at the top of the bonnet (hood) and seeps into the fuse box. It’s a large dealer repair if that’s the case.

This is interesting! I’m having my front loom and fuse box replaced under warranty. Are they just the same as the originals and is it just a new rubber cover they fit to keep water away? Would you recommend doing your inner tube fix once I get my car back? I only have a set of car ramps to raise...
