If a Toyota part, they still have to ship it from Michigan so makes me think it is not.
We assume being a Toyota engine it will be more reliable, but for my car it doesn’t seem that way so far ( 2 clutch issues and an alternator)
At this rate, I will sell the car before warranty ends in 3...
It gave an error once and then I put it on the battery tender, took it out at night and there was no error and then it just died so one error at the time did not trigger me to be concerned as it went away.
Maybe I should have been concerned, but a new car with 1k miles and a bad alternator is...
Battery dead
1.9 V and should be reading 12 V
At Lotus now
I still think it’s the alternator as once portable jumper unhooked, car dies but maybe I am wrong
Should I enter the monthly photo contest with my Emira on a flatbed truck every month for past 3 months 🤣?
I might win 🥇 day as all trucks were different times of the day and lighting 🤣
I agree with your assessment however 50% of people are saying it is the battery only and the other 50% are saying it is the alternator/charging system (I am in this camp).
Poll taken of 10 people so not really scientific but from what I have experienced in prior cars, should be the alternator
Agree with your thinking
That’s my thought but Lotus thinks it is the battery only
I have an event to be at Wednesday and was going to take the car, but unfortunately, I think it’ll be at the dealership for two weeks 😅
I like the car also, but patience for simple things running low for me as well.
Towed x 3 in 5 months (2 clutch and now a battery or alternator problem). Posted this morning on what happened last night 🤣
That is the question I have.
In any other car is the alternator that drains the battery but once you can start the car, the alternator takes over and they flip-flop on charging and discharging.
However, as this is, the Lotus may be it needs the battery to be fully functional to keep up with...
Ok will disconnect and see if can take to auto parts store
I guess I have to disconnect the negative terminal first per other posts and connect it last
Hit 1,000 miles yesterday and right after I stopped at a store and restarted the car I get this message (pic below).
Drove home, put on battery tender for 6 hours and went out at night. Battery error gone.
Valet comes in to find me at restaurant and said my car doesn’t start (initially thought...
Sorry I missed you. Friend told me you stopped by. Tried to find you, and will catch you next time. Thank you for the compliment on the color.
We should have a get together with a Dallas Lotus group some day.
Haven't done this, but is this for tax purposes like most people do with supercars worth 500k or more? Can you tax deduct, or have to have a business or LLC in Montana?
Wow that was quick...only 8 days, lol (mine was 2 weeks). That is great that only needed a bleed, although that is what they probably told you but needed more, because shouldn't have taken 8 days for a bleed :)
I rolled down the windows for the 1st time in 500 miles (wanted to keep the new car scent fresh :), however just noticed the passenger window does NOT go all the way down and peaks its head above where you would rest your arm (see inside photo from driver seat, and outside photos when parked)...
