I have a hunch Lotus are trying to get an i4 or two ready for Goodwood Festival of Speed on 13 July. They will have lots of deposit holders and prospects attending, so will need to have updates and answers. Getting a running, production spec i4 going up the hill would seem a good way to handle...

It’s hard to get to the affected parts as they are under the front (fixed) body panel, not under the removable front access hatch.

Ah, I’m guessing it may be because your build is pushing in to 2024 and they have planned a price increase from 1 Jan. They should be more transparent about that.

Hi and welcome to the forum. The second price increase is unexpected and hasn't so far been reported by anyone else in the UK who has been asked to finalise their spec for upcoming build. It seems odd that they asked you to do your config earlier in the month and are now asking you to do it...

You can damage the paint and lift PPF. Metal panels on other cars use a higher temperature process so the paint is more strongly bonded. Lotus use a lower temperature process due to the composite panels.

That didn’t specify which models ADAS would be fitted on. Lotus subsequently confirmed it wouldn’t be on the V6 FE and “might” be on the i4 FE and “probably” would be a cost option in the Base Editions. That was over a year ago and they’ve provided no official update since then.

I’d be surprised if it’s baffled on the Emira. It’s only on the Evora GT430 and GT, not the other 4xx cars and it’s not mentioned in the Emira service notes or schedule.

That was the original spec but they were uprated during validation and all production cars are the higher output.

Interesting info. It takes about 10-12 hours on the line for a car to go from a collection of parts to complete car. Takt time is how long each station is allocated to complete its part of the process before the car moves on to the next station.
