Interesting - I seem to remember that photo as well, but none of the images on the configurator show that feature. The only thing I have is a First Edition 'technical walkaround brochure' that mentions the mesh shifter console for manuals.

Gator’s PDI is very intensive so I have confidence they will address any known issues before delivery. Unlike some other dealers, Lotus is Gators halo brand so they go the extra mile to ensure quality.

I started contacting some insurance companies for rates. However they don’t see the VIN in their systems. Same with the NHTSA VIN decoder. Does the car have to physically pass customs for the VIN to be active in the US?

I agree with Green. I've run my PPF"d cars through the touchless washes with no issues. Not sure I'll run the Emira through one even with PPF, but that's for other reasons.

Now that the Emira has become real for the US market, I'd like to see what rates are actually being quoted with VIN provided and an agreed-upon value. I've looked at Hagerty and Grundy but their quotes are still speculative without the VIN. I'll run by my current insurance company as well...

I think you’ve asked the BIG question. They are going to have to figure out the US pricing to make it an acceptable purchase. I’ve got a deposit down, but it is extremely contingent on the MSRP. It’s a very nice vehicle but if a base model comes in north of $100k it’s going to flop.

Given Lotus' promise of delivering a NA car in December, and the rapidly increasing rate of posts in this thread, I predict we'll hit 300 pages simultaneously with that first delivery. Both are worthy goals. Carry on.

There is a wide gulf between daily updates and zero updates. Surely Lotus could find an appropriate frequency and channel for communication to customers. I think that's all most of us want. They do have a communications team after all. Perhaps they could re-assess their role.

I hope so, but if I remember correctly with my Evora S (almost 10 years ago), information remained pretty general. Specific information didn't really become available until the car was completed and in transit to the US.
