    Changing the Emira's Weight Distribution

The things you should be worried about regarding weight for performance are: 1. reducing static weight for low speed corners 2. balancing how the springs hold it for consistency 3. adding dynamic weight (aero) for high speed corners Lots of options to achieve the above. Note that the Emira has...

If you sold your EMIRA what’s next?

Am selling my Emira. (And another car, which is why this bumps up out of the 100k range) The current shopping list after the Emira goes away: Ferrari 296 w/asetto fiorano pack - appreciate that it's smaller than the previous generation Mclaren 750s - fully capable street and track car...

Parking brake reset - new rotors

Figured it out, and posting incase anyone else runs into it. to reset the parking brake, fully unplug them. The clip is a little fidgety. If they don't pop off, then the clip is still engaged. Then run 12V to each of the 2 pins. If it goes the wrong way, reverse the polarity. I expected a...

Parking brake reset - new rotors

Hi, does anyone know if there is a manual procedure (without the VCI) to reset the parking brakes to their maximum open position? I'm not seeing an easy way to open these things back up to re-install stock rotors.

Who here has tracked their Emira?

Since you have coils you have far more adjustability than the standard alignment, and interestingly, the emira service manual has different suspension specs for Eagle F1 vs PSC2's. For the Eagle F1's. Set tire pressures, have half a tank of gas, I use driver weight then you're going to want to...

    Lemon Law Claim

Am also contemplating a lemon law claim as I've suffered two broken shifters which had the car out if service for about 40 days. I dont suspect service or part availability will improve with time on the emira, so would pursue a refund of purchase instead of replacement.

    Emira weight distribution

For reference, here's what my v6 Emira balanced out to with driver weight (190 lbs) and a half tank of fuel. You can see that the left side is still supporting more weight than the right, so in theory, removing more weight from the left side of the car (lightweight battery, driver seat, or a...

Anyone regretting that they got the Sport suspension and Cup 2s?

Having been through the sport suspension with the goodyears, then swapped to PSC2's because I felt the tire sidewalls were too soft for turn in on track, then swapping to the Ohlins from Jubu... I think both the touring and sports suspension on the car have inadequately stiff springs, and...

    Luggage talk

Tumi international carry on does fit. You have to load it on its side, then rotate it under the latch, so as long as the bag isn't stuffed it works. If doing motorsports things, the Wine county / LVRY bag is a drop in fit for a helmet Hans, shoes, and gear.

    Mounting options for Garmin Catalyst

I suction cup mount mine low center on the dash, have an extra ram mount link that lets it get a bit further out toward me. Doesn't really obscure any vision outside car. The camera you want to use the sticky mount. I've had the suction cup one fall off. That's central and up as high on the...

    Track talk modifications

Cup 2's are going to raise your lateral and braking loads a bit to maybe like 1.5g peak from 1.2g range peak. It's not going to wildly change the vehicle. If you add a ton of downforce and can sustain higher loads for longer then maybe it makes sense, but is pretty overkill for a street car on...

JUBU spec Ohlins TTX suspension road & sport (2-way)… PURE ART

Also just received the Ohlins from Jubu a few weeks ago, and finally had time to take them to the track this last weekend. Very high quality product and the mounts that Jubu makes are well thought out and well manufactured. Spring rates are 500lb/in The dampers though have a HUGE range of...

    Emira - Adjusting Camber

Thank you! This is super helpful. And my alignment shop didn't fully investigate last time because it's me, and I was pressed for time to get the car ready for a track day. Was only able to get through corner balance and ride height setting then a quick toe check before needing to get...

    Emira - Adjusting Camber

Does anyone have a guide for adjusting Emira camber? I'm assuming it's shim based and if anyone has this info, it'd be helpful. - 1mm shim = roughly how much negative camber - Is there a specific geometry to the shim or would most u shaped shims fit? - If specific, does anyone sell a kit of...

Who here has tracked their Emira?

Accurate. The thinner the pad gets the more heat transfer goes through the pads and into the calipers. This is how you melt caliper seals and warp rotors. Most clubs have in their tech inspection sheet, min 7mm of pad to start a track day as you're likely to burn through the remaining material...

    Track talk modifications

Yes JUBU AP rotors are installed. Thing to note is that the rotors are a custom size for Jubu that AP doesn't carry stock, and they modify the rotors to be full floating. You will have noise of them clanking around below 50mph. Just know what you're getting into if going that direction. They...

    Track talk modifications

Have tracked on the Ferodo 2500's, the Pagid's from Jubu, and the PFC 08's from simply lotus Ferodos - overheat, high wear, do not track these Pagid's - overly high initial bite that make them near impossible to drive daily. Bite is a bit too high for track. Don't overheat PFC08's -...

If you sold your EMIRA what’s next?

Have considered this question as I do wish the Emira had more zip on the track, but for the money, there is nothing interesting. If you double the money then you can start looking at Mclaren 600LT's and 620R's (likely what I'd go with), but for 100k, I'm not replacing the Emira with anything.

Advice for tire pressures: Eagle F1's on track?

The eagle f1's are pretty squishy and i got a lot of side to side motion in braking. I'd actually run them a bit higher than stock pressures to keep them a bit firmer. Would start the car at 33psi, each session when the tires feel like they no longer have grip, look down at current psi, and...

Who here has tracked their Emira?

I'd also like to add, be very selective about who you sign up to track with. Most of the real instructor in car track clubs are very good and very low incident rate. Private rentals and private clubs where people know each other also tend to have very low incident rates. I personally wouldn't...
