This is not a production car. It's an ambitious concept car intended to show that Lotus is pushing its thinking about the future. We know that the next Lotus sports car will be the TYP 135, and I'm betting it has almost nothing in common with this.

Won't be TYP 135. Lotus just told investors that it would be delayed by at least a year. The 1H presentation now says TYP 135 (New Model 2) won't launch until 2026 with deliveries in 2027.

A better take on the situation would be: Lotus may delay the TYP 135 because it has finally worked out that they pulled the trigger on the shift to 100% BEV vehicles at least five (and possibly ten) years too early.

If it's a manufacturing fault, Teijin Automotive will be hit with a massive warranty claim from Lotus. After all, they were selected because they claimed to have a superior formulation that prevented this very issue!

The end of 2025 is still 18 months from now and we always expected V6 production to finish by then. That's completely different from people claiming that the V6 is finishing now and being replaced by the 400HP i4.

There's been no official communication from Lotus saying that V6 production is finishing this year. Nothing. So far it's all just gossip and rumours. Toyota has only been manufacturing the 2GR-FE engine for use by Lotus for several years, so eliminating the V6 (mostly the 2GR-FKS and 7GR-FKS)...

Lotus cracks me up . . . their communication is so woeful that even their closest followers (this forum, dealers, etc) aren't certain if they're still selling their highest volume product, the V6 Emira. You couldn't make this stuff up.

They stopped providing full owner's manuals about a year ago. Perhaps they have reacted to negative feedback and changed this. My Emira only came with the service manual, quick start manual, and infotainment manual . . not a proper owner's manual.

At least you got it. In Australia, DAB radio and navigation are missing from the Emira after being part of the advertised spec . . . and with no warning or explanation from Lotus at all. So my son's Kia Rio has a better radio and navigation system than my exotic sportscar!

A lawyer would have a field day with this. It's in plain English on their website and has been for a couple of years. They can't suddenly claim it was a typo. Paint In addition to the basic warranty, the paint of your Emira is covered for 5 years, regardless of how much you drive.

I don't think you need to be ultra-careful with the soap you use on PPF. If it's pH-neutral and safe for the paint on an expensive car then it will be fine for the PPF too.

Agree. It's easy to forget that, despite the terrible launch, Emira has been a massive success for Lotus. In their wildest, wildest, dreams they never expected to take 10,000 deposits for the car. It will almost certainly be the best selling model in the history of the brand (Elise sold 35,000).

It sounds more like some minor contamination of the paint at the factory. Frustrating but much better than paint blisters from moisture!
