    Hello and seeking advice

How does this work? You just plug the radar detector into the USB port? Does it turn on/off automatically?

    Carwash experience?

NO automatic car washes and NO touchless washes! As you can see from the forum, these cars (plus any other Lotus car) are sensitive to water ingress in the window seals and trunk area. Take time to do a proper hand wash as the manual recommends.

    Larini exhaust users?

I tried out the Larini on my Evora GT. I have vids of it if anyone is interested. I thought it was pretty good just not what I was after. It wasn’t as aggressive as OEM + decat. It but had more of shreek to it

    10 Year/ 100,000 limited warranty from Galpin

Is Is there a recommended service maintenance schedule that is out there? Outside of the 1 yr 10k oil change, I don’t think I’ve seen anything in the main handbook

The worst part about the Lotus Emira…

Have had a chance to put several hundred miles and several hours of drive time and I must say the seats not just snuggly hold you in place and give you such a better connection with the car, but they are super are comfortable/supporitive at the same time. Took the car out for a 3hr morning...

Anyone planning on driving their Emira through winter?

An update here as earlier this week I installed Continental DWS06 plus tires. I’ve had the opportunity to drive them in 30 degree weather here in NJ and in 500 miles or so I’m super impressed by them. They have very good traction, are responsive to steering input, are quiet, and ultimately are...

    SRS Service Fault

assuming you haven’t swapped out the seats, correct? The connectors that live under the seats are super difficult to disconnect so I would be very surprised if it was that. Regular obd2 readers can’t clear that code you need a lotus tool. This will likely be a dealer visit

    OEM Wheel Cost

I just swapped the dws tires onto my Emira a few days back after having them on my Evora GT . Great tires!

Lots of water in the car door

I looked under my car and had this same cut out as this pic (plus 2 grommets near the other end of the door). Does anyone have a different drain hole or no drain hole at all?

    Need advice on extended warranty

Honestly the Emira has first year teething problems that have been showing up within the first 12 months of ownership that is covered by warranty. If youre one of the lucky ones with minimal problems it might make sense to get a warranty from somewhere else at that time, not well ahead of it...

The worst part about the Lotus Emira…

I’m not sure I guess it depends on the size of a hard suitcase I suppose. You have a few inches of space to squeeze through a bag when you move the seat forward. Anytime I travel with the lotus it’ll be with a soft weekend bag so I can fit stuff in the back seat area and the trunk

How many miles are you guys getting out of your tires?

I just swapped out my eagle f1s for all seasons since it’s getting cold in NJ and there is how the rears look after 8k miles

The worst part about the Lotus Emira…

It’s all one piece so you lose the ability to recline. You could move the seat forward to get stuff back there though

    High-Pitched whining noise steering

No way that’s normal. Sound like a fighter jet engine firing up

What did you do to your Emira today?

Yeah sorry I meant the stock seats. The Tillett seats have adjustability in the height and tilt with a hex wrench. You can change it on the fly if you have a few minutes to spare. I’m 5-10, 190lb and fit nicely in the regular b10 version. Note that you feel a lot more of the road and what the...

What did you do to your Emira today?

I didn’t get pain in my lower back but my butt became numb after a while with the dock seats. The new seats are super supportive even if they don’t look it. They hug you like a glove and you can change the recline angle to your liking
  22. B

The worst part about the Lotus Emira…

Yeah you lose the heated seats and power adjustments as these are manual seats. It’s quite the trade off
  23. B

Is it true our tires can’t be patched?

Hell naw no need to buy a new tire. I got a screw while on a trip to Vermont on my Goodyears and a random local shop patched that sucker right up. 6k miles later all is well.

The worst part about the Lotus Emira…

No it was pretty easy to install. probably took me 2 hours taking it easy. Not sure what you mean by mush on top of the seat? 😂

The worst part about the Lotus Emira…

Has been fixed!! Before: After: These are the Tillett b10 (regular) seats bought from Greg at GRP A few observations after a few hours of driving: -You sit lower for sure. Probably 1-2 inches if not more. I need to get used to new seating position. I had to adjust my mirrors so it’s...

    Software updates

My philosophy is if it ain’t broke….. don’t fix it. Even having my lotus dealer local to me, unless I’m experiencing an active issue I usually wait to have several things pop up so it can all can done it one shot. The teething issues are still very present on the Emira and it looks like one...

How many miles are you guys getting out of your tires?

What!? Did you get your alignment checked? That seems super odd to me. Even cup 2 tires don’t wear out that quickly
  34. B

How many miles are you guys getting out of your tires?

Yeah I have the same setup and have tons of meat left on the tires. Did you get any type of alignment on it? If stock, and not pushing the car super hard you may want to get your alignment checked out as this isn’t normal

    Anybody purchase wheels from Aerie?

I actually sold the wheels as I sold the car they were on so I’m not sure how they are holding up. For the paint, it just looks like a part of the inner barrel was slightly missed and I could see the primer a bit.

    Anybody purchase wheels from Aerie?

Yeah I’ve purchased wheels from them before. Before placing the order, Aerie provided really good customer service and answered all my questions etc. Once I placed my order, customer service fell off of a cliff. Had to reach out several times to even get a response. The wheels took weeks longer...

I've done many mods. Will they still repair unrelated stuff?

Even if you plug in the stock ECU before bringing it in to the dealer, I guess the question is if they see a gap in the ECU, will that give them incentive to say sorry this issue is not covered by warranty

    Ppf full body

I mean the top 2 things I consider is obviously price and how long I plan to keep the car. I’ve learned the hard way and I have to look at my track record at selling cars every year or so. I’ve come to conclusion that I’ve never owned a car thinking I will keep it forever, would it make sense to...
