    Securing Frunk

I was curious as well and opened up the front soon after getting my car. I also took loads of photos. This one shows the stay in place holding the front cover up. I can see the same shaped receptacle on yours, although I wouldn't describe it as a plate as such.

    Scorpion Auto tracker registration

My Dealer (Lotus Essex) set it all up. They are also Scorpion fitters so know what to do. I got the Lotus Scorpion account details 4 days before I picked the car up and installed the app straight away. Make sure you install the Lotus Vehicle Tracker app rather than Scorpion's own app. I even...

    The 1st Edition isn't exclusive

I had never seen an Emira on the road until I got mine in June. Then I saw three, one parked up and the other two going in the opposite direction. I partly put it down to me just going for a drive at a good time when the weather is sunny and the other people doing the same. I'm getting used to...

What did you do to your Emira today?

If you intend to leave it on all the time don't forget to check your footage at night as the image will be darker/different. I leave mine on but I'm not doing much night driving.

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

You don't need to remove the cables to fit the CTEK charger cable. Just undo each nut and connect the correct CTEK terminal one at a time, that's the way I did it. There are a few ways to route the cables, the positive (red) is the one that needs to be done carefully so that the plastic cover...

    Cold start stalling

I had no cold start problems for the first 650 miles or so but then it happened, it would start and run roughly for a few seconds then stop. The second start would be absolutely normal. This has happened for every cold start each day for about 500 miles. I know the dealer filled up with...

Strange issue, auto parking brake doesn't release, reverse doesn't change mirrors down

Ok, seeing as my experience is with the V6 manual we really need someone else with an i4 auto to confirm this.

Strange issue, auto parking brake doesn't release, reverse doesn't change mirrors down

Yes it should. The PDF handbook settings in Centre Display Screen show: General> Electric parking brake: Automatic activation/deactivation. You could try toggling it off then see what happens and then toggle it back on. On my V6 Manual it works as it should i.e. the handbrake comes on...

Strange issue, auto parking brake doesn't release, reverse doesn't change mirrors down

Just check that the settings haven't magically changed for both of these in the Centre Display Screen. I've turned off my mirror tilting when reverse is selected as it never went to a position that I wanted, just as easy for me to manually adjust it when I reverse.

Rock Collector Body Location Likely Leading to Surface Wear/Rust?

Well, after cleaning out all the small stones trapped in here I had a look in my garage to see what I had to stop this. I've applied one strip of this 3mm thick draught excluder closed cell foam. It's tricky to do but I pushed it into the gap a very small way and then lifted it up to stick it on...

Well it got me looking at my wheel arches and I'm now trying to think of a way to stop those stones from collecting.

Rock Collector Body Location Likely Leading to Surface Wear/Rust?

I thought I'd look to see what sort of rock collection my car was hoarding and found it was in to botany as well.

Spotted: Emiras seen in the wild

Spotted in Ipswich last Friday. I had just come off a roundabout and looked ahead and went through a moment of going is that one?.... yes it is! I've gone from not seeing any on the road to three in one week counting the red one at the Ipswich PPF Centre on Saturday. Picture from my dash cam...

Spotted: Emiras seen in the wild

Spotted in Hadleigh, Suffolk today. A seneca blue Emira parked up in the High Street. This is the first one I've actually seen on the road. I stopped and had a closer look but no one ran out to accost me!

Just to confirm the StopLock Pro Elite fits. It's best to turn the steering wheel a bit to be totally clear of the centre screen.

    Picking a yellow

Hethel Yellow is a solid gloss colour. In sunshine it's a bright yellow, less so in the shade. Either way it's a great colour! The sunshine photo was taken with a compact camera, the shade photo with my phone, which might make a difference also.

The Ice Grey is much better than I was expecting as it's a really good contrast with the rest of the dark interior. My first choice was the Tan but my wife didn't like that so it was one small compromise. Mind you she's not keen on the rest of car!

    Japan - Self-healing paint???

    Fuel Choices

E05 means the fuel has 5% bio-ethanol in it. E10 means the fuel has 10% bio-ethanol in it. The problem with ethanol is that older cars, mainly before 2002 don't like ethanol. Copied from a UK website: As a rule, drivers of cars registered prior to 2002 are advised not to use E10 in their...
