Could be that the latest software hasn't been installed on the Emira that got an update at Komotec. Some very early cars got an update after being shipped to the dealer as far as I know and maybe the one you heard about didn't have it yet.

I agree here, the idle rpm goes up by 200rpm (ish), same as on older Lotus models from the last generation. But thats not really an exhaust noise change.

Hm. Maybe you can compare the speed right after engine start without going into auto / interval? The speed difference is pretty obvious when you haven't been in auto first. According to my dealer all cars have the problem and they confirmed what we already know - still no fix.

He said that briefly in the beginning as part of the statement that the Emira is an "all-new car" (🙄). Personally I think this was a pretty good review and a very fair take on the Emira. He even said it handles better than a Cayman.

I am still a firm believer that there is no noise difference in Sport or Track mode. I even made a video trying to capture this. There maybe is even less burble on the overrun on Track, but in terms of volume or intensity I really cannot find any difference. Which also makes sense to me since...

My front right tire pressure sensor stopped working in 2*C and icy rain today. Came back after a while, disappeared again and then returned to normal. Not a biggy by any means and maybe due to the weather. Happens often on BMWs as well. Just wanted to document for the statistics 🙂

@Toomanyloti don't slit it open!! You know the story that Lotus had only 3 molds for the Elan body and that having a not-perfect fitting right door is a sign of authenticity? Because the last surviving mold was deformed on the way back to the factory after Lotus pulled the fibre glass...

@Pugwash did you notice a difference in the ride after replacing the donuts? I was tempted to also do the swap but heard that sometimes the additional vibration can harm the chassis mountpoint.

Lotus Elans are just a miracle! I have never experienced anything that drives like it. They are (feel) surprisingly fast. But since they are often sub-700kg, so carburator powered 138bhp do carry quite a bit of punch for such a small car. Which feels incredibly fast sitting so low on the ground...

I think the (b) is an important consideration in that regard. in the first place they register to be part of the community and _then_ the errors start appearing. I know owners in the (a) group that are not registered here but still have issues. Haven't heard anything serious and mostly the stuff...
