Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

Deposit 12th July '21, originally had a bunch of dates earlier in the year, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov for delivery, and now Feb build. As long as it can get PDI'd with a march (23) reg I'll be happy. Should mean I get to collect just before my birthday 🤞

    Dashcam for the Emira

What it doesn't say (that I saw) is if that's an always on port so that you can do parking mode on the dash cams that support it, I'm guessing it's not and turns off with the ignition 🤔

Lotus Driving Academy today - good news

I believe it was around 65-70 if memory serves, then 3rd was about 90, 4th about 115-120

I only drove the Tour chassis so can't comment on the differences, but yes, both cars will have the drive mode choices

    Henry Catchpole - Carfection review

I can confirm from doing the LDA yesterday, the brakes in the car are incredible! One of the skills tests we had to do was a brake and avoid. Approach a wall of cones at approx 50/60/70/75mph and then, with a marker cone approx 20m in front, stomp on the brakes and then swerve through a cone...

Lotus Driving Academy today - good news

Just did a quick Google, on Volvo's you press the L and R buttons simultaneously for a second and that folds or unfolds the mirrors. I suspect it will be the same in the Emira given the switches look to be identical to the volvo ones

Lotus Driving Academy today - good news

It wasn't in the settings but this is a standard feature on most cars so I'd expect so. There's a small dial on the drivers door for controlling the mirrors, normally you either push this towards the front of the car or twist it 180 degrees to fold the mirrors when you want to do it ad-hoc

Lotus Driving Academy today - good news

I don't think we were sat in totally production ready seats, I didn't see the three stripes for example. I think the seats are going to be very personal as to whether you do or don't get on with them. I felt comfortable and secure in them while throwing the car around the track and they were...

Lotus Driving Academy today - good news

Some more notes on the cars. We only had three cars on standby for use during the day, a DV, seneca and nimbus car. As the DV and nimbus were out on track pretty constantly all day, I didn't get too thorough of a look through the cars but I did sit in and have a look around the seneca LDA car...

Lotus Driving Academy today - good news

I wish I'd paid more attention/made better notes. But, I know that we used a mixture of the modes today, some of it in tour, some of it in track. I felt like the slow, pootling around getting onto the track, the car was quite quiet. But under hard acceleration, it really did open up and sounded...

Lotus Driving Academy today - good news

To echo's Andrew's sentiment, I was also at the event today and think good news is definitely accurate! Today's event saw 6 of us on the tailor made advanced, full day course, led by 2 instructors, Martin Donnelly and Toby Goodman. We used two cars, the dark verdant on a sports setup with cup...

    Emira Insurance UK

I was getting Evora quotes around £1800-£1900 and just tried for the Emira, about £2200. Current car is £1200 from the same company. So yep, bit more expensive but it's about what I expected it to be. London post code and being under 30 does not make for cheap insurance 😅

Rev counter in track - who's smoking what at lotus

Could it be that this weird numbering is an effort to smooth out the revs so the bar moves across at a pretty much constant speed? 🤔

    Goodwood - updates and info

Spoke to Stewart as I was asking for more detail on the agenda for the day. He pointed to a lady he had just been talking to who apparently was composing just that the last couple of weeks. He said to expect more details about what to expect on the day to be emailed to those registered already...

    Goodwood - updates and info

I sat in both today and the pedals in the LHD were noticeably off to the right, the steering wheel seemed ok to me though. In the RHD, both pedals and wheel seemed to be exactly where I would expect them for my normal driving position. YMMV of course.

Great picture! Now, how do we get shorter brackets made up/purchase them from lotus maybe? I can legally get my plate down to 363mm if I can find an appropriate bracket
  22. Joel

    Goodwood - updates and info

On the cars at Goodwood this bracket is about 450mm long I would have said, not much shorter than the plate itself so wouldn't work with a short plate

    Goodwood - updates and info

Managed to get a Friday ticket last night so have visited the stand today. My August build is now an October build (12th July deposit, V6 Manual) with likely a November delivery. Asked about the black rubber strip on the bonnet and was told it was added later in the design to minimise wind...

Anyone nervous about street-parking their future Emira?

I used to do this all the time (London) on my road, which is admittedly relatively narrow, cars parked both side, room for one between. My car has twice been hit (minor damage) and I've seen 3 more serious crashes with cars parked on the ends as well, just on the one street and all in the space...

Goodwood Festival of Speed 23-26 June

I'm not going to make it, so, for those who do go, can you have a look at the infotainment system and see if it's the final production version? All the reviews mentioned it hadn't been completed and no one's really given much information about it. I'm wondering if you'll be able to use apps and...

Does anyone do that (in the UK)? Not something I've heard of but have heard of fixed price servicing packages for the first 3 years

Goodwood Festival of Speed 23-26 June

Thanks for the links! You've saved me a lot of googling! Seems the Emira is in the first glance batch which appears to run at both 0940 and 1410 on Thursday right? I've not been to FOS before but tempted to buy a last minute ticket and come along. Just worried about missing out on seeing the...

    Lotus Driving Academy

Just had my call from Stewart as well. The first LDA events will now be on the 23rd of July and he's calling all the folks who've booked prior to this to help rearrange. He was very communicative and answered all of my questions, the delays are linked to the supply chain issues and they've...

They have in the T&C's that you aren't allowed to take any cameras on site for the LDA, otherwise I 100% would have hooked up my GoPro

    Emira Insurance UK

I tried to speak to Manning's to get a speculative quote but got told that at my age, they'd need me to own the car for a year before they'd be able to help. So I'm now going to wait til the first cars come out and see what I can find on the comparison sites

    No Emira for me 😕

Sorry to hear you're pulling out, I've been stressing about whether to go ahead with mine or not but at the moment I'm still in! For me, perhaps not the most financially sensible decision, but hey, you only live once right? What's the spec that lucky person gets Daz, if you don't mind sharing?

    Lotus Driving Academy

This is pretty much what I'm taking it as, an early and hopefully very enjoyable test drive! Will certainly report back once I've done it. Mines on the 29th so still a couple of weeks away, but I am very excited about getting to drive one so soon!

    Lotus Driving Academy

I've booked in on the Tailor Made Advanced later this month. It'll be my first time doing anything like this so wondered if anyone has any advice for making sure I make the most out of it? I've driven a number of high performance cars on the road before so have experience with circa 400bhp rear...

Will the Emira fit in the Eurotunnel without damaging the diamond cut alloys, those kerbs are nasty!
  40. Joel

Will you use a front plate or hope you don't get pulled over??

Looking back, you might be right, they might have changed the metal plate between offloading and putting the Australian plate on, in which case, hopefully the lotus spare parts store will sell us other regional plates in the UK as well
