    Custom MagSafe Wireless Charger

FYI: the power supply box I installed using double-sided tape, came off today and was hanging down with its attached wiring. So the tape didn't work well, to hold it underneath the glove box area. I installed it about 3 weeks ago. Unsure if I used defective double-sided tape...thought I'd put it...

Arch Guards / Mudflaps - anyone have these installed?

My thanks to crestima for taking the time/making the effort (complete with photos) to explain and show us a mud guard/flap option.

Out of battery - Howto access tailgate?

I'd posted this elsewhere but will repeat it here to help you out. The "pull cord" on my Emira was a black loop (not red, as mentioned in the manual) and it was located more along the side of the open panel area, as opposed to reaching down inside and towards the back of the vehicle. So once...

Lotus Emira OEM Goodyear 4 Summer Tires For Sale (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)

I'm still considering putting my original (544 km/338 miles on them) summer tires on rims, however unless I spend +++ money for a set of forged rims from the States, that won't happen. My tire shop hasn't found any different sized (front/rear) rims, available locally, but they're still looking...

    First Oil Change Service???

Good luck fulfilling your dreams of a lift. A word of caution: it's like a heated garage: once you're used to a lift, you won't want to be w/o one. One sales pitch that worked for me: it frees up a parking stall in your garage, so you have even more room for everything else. If you do get a...

    Painting the shifter knob markings

I stained my Emira gear knob as well, however it's faint and not that noticeable to anyone but me and my spouse (who tried helping) and suspect it'll completely disappear with use, as others have suggested. A few things I found helpful with the second coat (having learned from the first): -I...

Help me choose a set of wheels

You might get 20 different opinions, favouring 20 different rims. This is such a personal choice. You've expressed a liking for lighter rims. I'd stick with that, regardless of what anyone else might say. Gold is pretty flashy, especially if a bright gold. If you want "bling" go for the gold...

Removing Emira Manual Transmission Gear Knob

Page 47-50 of the Service Manual is a bit shy on details and although I know others have done this, I’ll set it out here for DIY’s like me who appreciate having things spelled out, no matter how obvious it may be to some: 1. Loosen the M5x16 “grub screw” that’s at the back of the knob. I used...

    More details for KEF Audio

That said, I looked at some of that link. The original March 6/20 start of the thread, is an article which purports to "scientifically" refute the claim that there's any such thing as "speaker break-in". That looks to be what Lewquatious is relying upon, although I'll let him speak to that...

    Running in procedure

Reading the last few posts: -the "run-in period" (aka the break-in period) has nothing to do with timing; but rather only miles on the engine and tires (and clutch, if applicable), as you properly wear them in. You can complete it in a few days if you're constantly driving, or over a few months...

    Break in Oil Change?

Up to you and the oil suggested by your dealer is likely AOK, but I'm admittedly fussy and whenever possible, I like to use the exact oil recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. For the Emira, it's an oil that's made in France: "Total Quartz 9000 Energy SAE 0W-40 fully-synthetic" (see page 275...

    More details for KEF Audio

Sorry Lewquatious but after reviewing not only the OP (first post) on the thread you referenced, but others which quote different "scientific studies" and quote from various audiophiles, I'm left with the impression that this question of "speaker break-in" remains controversial with proponents...

    From the top!

He must have just washed the C8 in a really hot water mix...causing it to shrink (lol). Or (more likely) the pointed snout of the C8 counts towards the ~9.5" length difference. I've owned 2 C8's (2020 and 2023) just before "trading up" to my Emira. I loved both C8's, especially the ++ loaded...

Three yellow dots visible in boot glass reflection

Just a heads-up. If your "boot" was open, you'd see an image of your Emira on the dashboard, with a yellow colouring on its rear...which turns to red, when driving. That's the dashboard warning light that your boot is open or not properly closed. Enjoy the drive!

    Post-delivery questions

I received no such window label and wonder if it’s there as part of the dealer PDI process, for the initial dealer vehicle use following factory delivery? Hi from UK - Emira V6 on order due end August 24.

Here's a helpful Forum thread for picking up your Emira, in case you've not already seen it: https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/pre-delivery-checklist.4216/ When I picked up mine, I brought along the thin rubber channel for the seat edges and installed it on both seats (max 5 minute job)...

DIY - Oil Change Reference for 2GR-FE

I can't answer your question, since I automatically removed both engine covers (front then back). That said, I don't think it worth it, to leave the cover on. The covers are easily removed and put back into place. I'd also worry about oil drips and not seeing them, with your view blocked by a...

Emira vs Corvette E-Ray - Spoiler, Emira wins

Thanks for that thoughtful reply john777. I now know better where you’re coming from. Yes $1,000 is too much for an Emira oil/filter change. I’m surprised with that quote and expect you could find a cheaper one, moreso at a shop that services British vehicles, rather than a Lotus dealership...

Emira vs Corvette E-Ray - Spoiler, Emira wins

Research the extra recommended servicing required, by the E-Ray. Make an informed decision based on all the facts. The Emira will not “Ferrari gouge” you on service costs, either. However admittedly parts will be more since it’s a lower production car based in the UK with fewer dealerships...

Emira vs Corvette E-Ray - Spoiler, Emira wins

Having come from 2 Corvette C8 Stingrays and being a fan of "everything C8", I was much more interested in the C8 Z06 for my next car...and horrified when the price for the C8 E-Ray was announced (ridiculously close to the C8 Z06). I say this, since at least for me in Canada (with GM's "special"...

Do people really dislike the covered start button?

I'm in the "I like it" camp. Love it or hate it, it never ceases to attract attention when someone unfamiliar with the Emira, gets into the car. It's also easy to use, once you get the hang of it (in about 5 seconds). That...along with the "mesh" covering the lower gear shift linkage...plus the...

Rock Collector Body Location Likely Leading to Surface Wear/Rust?

Rock Collector Body Location Likely Leading to Surface Wear/Rust?

I owe everyone an apology and here it is. I checked my car this morning; the first time since being at the detailer on Saturday. The holes I described ARE in the rear wheel wells. Not sure why you’ve posted your comments. The 3 photos I posted were taken personally by me, after the detailer pointed out the rock accumulation, as a courtesy. I was there during all the PPF touch-ups (edges, bubbles, roof redone due to an arm hair accidental deposit) and even helped clean...

So disappointed with Zinc grey ...

This type of color has been around a long time. Here's some photos I snapped while admiring a Porsche 356 (around 1960?) in a Palm Springs parking lot, back in December 2015. The first I'd ever seen. At first glance, it looked to have been a ground-up restoration. I looked it up at the time and...

Should I disconnect the battery for 3 weeks away?

These newer cars are "computer-focused" and most of the computers continue to run, when the vehicle is parked, thus draining the battery. Some vehicles, like my E550 Mercedes, have 2 batteries, which helps, since one is focused on powering other things and the "main battery" remains charged...

    Do not break your mirror!

Rock Collector Body Location Likely Leading to Surface Wear/Rust?

Good suggestion. I’m in (depending on price) but think a metal mesh might be less prone to impact damage? I see amazon.ca sells black aluminum honeycomb mesh for Can$21.48 delivered (enough to cover both holes), so it’s just a question of securing it properly so it stays on and looks OK?

So disappointed with Zinc grey ...

Rock Collector Body Location Likely Leading to Surface Wear/Rust?

DIY - Oil Change Reference for 2GR-FE

Lotus could take a lesson from GM: the C8 Corvette has a similar "completely covered" underbody, however there's a hole immediately below the oil filter and another smaller one, immediately below the oil pan drain plug, allowing immediate/unobstructed access for oil/filter changes. Neither are...

Rock Collector Body Location Likely Leading to Surface Wear/Rust?

I received my V6 manual transmission Emira in early June. I noticed it had a different floor mat set-up than earlier models (mine had press-on pegs, instead of screwed-in connectors). Perhaps you’re missing the “vent holes” behind the front tires for that reason (it’s an earlier version)? How...
