can you update this w/ black forged wheels? personally the alcantara w/ yellow stich is what I'm going for. I'm not early enough for a FE though, so the zinc grey may also be an option if it's like nardo...

I misread it, or misunderstood.... I still think I'd be able to tell touring vs sport, but part of that is previous exposure to the evora gt. I would agree that if there's no baseline, knowing which is which would require a comparison drive in each one.

I didnt' make it, and if I had, i'd 100% order, but I also want alllll the options it seems... I could see if an early depositor that didn't want the extra stuff could now see that the base pricing would apply if they waited, it would possibly get some to defer and wait for the lower priced...

that 0-60 is likely due to 8 speeds and shift quickness more so than torque. just IMO

valid point, what materials do you think will be sacrificed here? I assumed volume was the "sacrifice" to make it meet a price point when 1st announced, but I don't think that's the case since I THINK the prior cars sold for quite a bit under msrp. Not sure though!

This made me LOL... I really think the car will be excellent. I have no clue what to expect if something breaks, but I'm going into it expecting long parts delays and knowing the dealer is not nearby... Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised! haha

I'm a 1st timer too. My assumption was only that a person would either deal with it and order, defer till they were confident, or go buy something else. My point was more so that a lot of the communication expectations really don't affect the end result delivery timing, and the complaining...

I trust that they are doing everything they possibly can to build solid cars. The rest is potentially annoying and frustrating, and IF you had to commit before seeing colors and such, would be a tough decision to make, but in reality doesn't change when I'll get what I actually want. "Knowing"...

The "funny" part to me, was that when I first put down a deposit, and joined all these forums, I actually saw a TON of posts from the old guard of Lotus owners about how expectations vs reality was going to be. I think reality is somewhere in the middle, better than the past, but not up to...

Gotta assume it's same as the previous cars were w/ the same engine. And there's definitely debate about how much is really required, but IMO on a performance vehicle especially, it's not just the engine, but the diff gears, brakes, clutch, transmission, etc that ALL benefit from being heat...

I'm actually quite glad I didn't make the FE cut at this point. Especially since timing of delivery would have been just in time to put the car in storage anyway... Will be good to see more finished cars in various lighting before having to decide.

Well, I think the fakest news has come from the most obvious source lmao...

mine just says base edition spring '23. which I interpret to be v6 since the FE i4 will likely go on sale prior to base i4... and they haven't given an official timeline for that yet that i've seen...

Also.... isn't this a dealer that is doing market adjustments? Might make that 200+ number fall to 100+ if they are putting a 20k (made up number) markup on the cars. EDIT apologies if i'm wrong that this is one of the markup dealers...

I'm not sure I'd take that to mean that all those orders will be for FE cars though.

I don't think I'd go that far these days, lots of 19 and 20 " cast wheels are oem at this point and are unlikely to fail and the aftermarket options aren't bad either... but to make them weaker by by powdercoating isn't smart IMO.

I think even cast is at risk, but whether it's a significant risk is beyond my knowledge. just one of those things that IMO is not worth the risk since failure of a wheel could be deadly and painting is a simple and still cost effective solution.

I'd suggest painting vs powdercoating... the heat in powdercoating can weaken a wheel. Might not be an issue for street use, but IMO doesn't make sense to do it.

Lotus has an easy out, just say FE's aren't limited, but only option after this allocation is the i4 FE which hasn't yet been priced and all current depositors have to convert to nonrefundable BEFORE pricing is announced so they can be realistic about pricing over the timeframe needed to fill...
